To whom it may concern;

It is our great pleasure to give our free and prior consent and support for the nomination of celebration of Hidrelez for the inscription in the UNESCO Representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Hidrelez (Hidirellez) celebrates the beginning of the new annual cycles of the nature, the re-birth and the apotheosis (celebration of life). As part of the intangible cultural heritage of the Turkish population that lives in Repub tc of Macedonia, this celebration is of a huge importance for its bearers and gives them a sense of identity and belonging. In the spirit of celebration, and as a way of safeguarding the tradition, each year on this day one of the most important manifestation for the Turkish population in the Republic of Macedonia, the Festival of Spring celebration Hid Bah Shen Fest, takes place. The festival, which is also a formal manifestation of the Hidrelez celebration, takes place in the village of Chalakli, Valandovo region, at the beginning of May, more precisely on 6th of May. Since 1991 the festival itself is a celebration of the spring holydays, which is a part of the tradition of the Turkish population, and at the same time, through different forms, it also represents a promotion of the Turkish culture and tradition. The festival held in the village of Chalakli, last for four days and is consisted of folklore, exhibitions of handcrafts and photography, concerts, theatre plays, traditional Pelivan wrestling and football games. As representatives of the all inhabitants of more than 10 villages in southeastern part of Republic of Macedonia populated by Turkish population which through many generations celebrates the Spring celebration: Hidrelez(Hidirellez), we give our free and prior consent for the multinational nomination of the Spring celebrations: Hidrelez to be inscribed on the UNESCO Representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. We strongly believe that this inscription will give contribution in increasing the awareness of the keeping and cherishing the Turkish traditional culture in this region.

The spring celebration Hidrelez is of huge importance for the preservation of the traditional culture of the Turkish population that live in Radovish region. Since this municipality has multiethnic demographic structure, the Hidrelez (Erdelezi) celebration unites the Turkish communities that live in this region, which gives the nomination significant importance. With this letter the Association of admirers of Roma folklore art "Romano Ilo" - Skopje, gives its full support and free and prior consent for the preparation of the multinational application for nomination of the Spring celebration: Erdelezi for its possible inscription in the UNESCO Representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Erdelezi is a holiday of enormous importance of the Roma population that lives in the municipality Shuto Orizari in Skopje, which is the largest Roma municipality in the world. The celebration marks the beginning of the spring and includes many rituals for awakening the earth and providing health and well being for people and livestock. This celebration is of a huge importance for the Roma not only from Republic of Macedonia, but also for the Roma populations of the wider region who arrives in Skopje and participates in the Shuto Orizari celebration of Erdelezi which gives them a sense of identity and belonging to the Roma comunity. In the municipality of Shuto Orizari - Skopje, the Erdelezi celebration last for several days thus being the most important event in the whole year. The inscription of this celebration is of a huge importance in preserving the traditional cultural values of the Roma population that lives in the Republic of Macedonia. Its safeguarding is very important for preserving the traditional cultural values of the Roma population in Republic of Macedonia. The Association of admirers of Roma folklore art "Romano Ilo" - Skopje fully supports the celebration on highest level and gives its contribution for the transmission of this cultural heritage to the future generations.
