Chapter 1. Getting Started

1.1. myTRADELINK Portal

myTRADELINK is Malaysia's trade facilitation portal that connects

trading communities with the relevant government agencies and also

other businesses involved in global trade and logistics. An initiative of

the Malaysian Government led by the Ministry of Finance of Malaysia -

and operated by Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, it is a single

platform where the trade community can exchange documents

required to fulfil regulatory trade processes for import, export or transit

- anytime, anywhere via the Internet.

1.2. Type of Users and Roles

There are 4 types of users:

Each user has the functionality as shown in the table below.

1.3. Requirements on using myTRADELINK

Absolutely nothing! The minimum requirements needs to be fulfilled

would be, to have a PC or Notebook installed with these browsers:

Mozilla Firefox

Internet Explorer

Google Chrome

...and of course with internet connection.

1.4. myTRADELINK Services

eDeclare

Prepare and submit electronic Customs Declarations online.

ePayment

Prepare and submit Customs Duty payments via Electronic Funds

Transfer, Duty Net and FPX.

eManifest

Shippers and shipping agents can submit vessel and cargo

manifests to the respective authorities here.

ePermit

Apply for permits from relevant PermitIssuing Agencies and obtain

approval online.



ePCO

Apply for Preferential Certificate of Origin from the Ministry of

International Trade and Industry (MITI) and obtain approval

online.

ePermit STA

Apply for Preferential Certificate of Origin from the Ministry of

International Trade and Industry (MITI) and obtain approval

online.

1.5. Accessing myTRADELINK

To access myTRADELINK portal, enter "www.mytradelink.gov.my" in

the browser address bar.

Figure 2 depicted myTRADELINK home page and brief features:

1. Website Personalization - Allows visitors to resize content text

size and change layout colour. It also include "text to speech"

feature for vision challenged visitors where it reads the content

of the portal.

2. Language Toggle - Visitors able to switch content language

between English and "Bahasa Malaysia"

3. Portal Navigation Menu - Visitors able to browse through the

portal using the navigation menu. FAQ and Menu link are

placed at the far right of the bar.

4. Search - Visitors may search the portal content using keywords

5. Sign On - For visitors that have an account in any of

myTRADELINK services to login.



6. Not a Subscriber - Visitors may register as a registered user for

any of myTRADELINK services.

7. Announcement - Latest announcements are posted here.

Visitor may look through the announcements by clicking the

announcement's number and click "read more" for

full view.

8. Services - To know more about myTRADELINK services,

browse using the link on the services area.

9. Calendar - Calendar hold events information. Click on the

dates to see more details on scheduled events.

10. Location Map - Location of Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd,

the provider of myTRADELINK services.

11. Quick Info Tools - Offers quick access to useful information

searching tools such Exchange rates, Tariff Codes, Registered

CUSCAR and Shipping Schedule can be accessed through

clicking on the tab of choice.

12. Government Agencies Link - Visitors may visit other agencies

portal through the link.

13. myTRADELINK standard policies - Contains details on privacy

and security policy also terms and conditions.



Chapter 2. myTRADELINK Features

2.1. General Features

General Features

After knowing what is myTRADELINK is all about and briefly browse

through features available in myTRADELINK, let's look at few useful

features available.

2.1.1. Navigation Menu

There are 3 types of navigation menu available in myTRADELINK.

The main menu above is what myTRADELINK contains. The menu is

a drop down menu and it's up to 3rd level menu. In other words, to go

to Brochures page, roll mouse pointer over Information Download

Centre Brochures

Navigate through the portal using the menu depicted in Figure 2.

Services & Footer Link

All pages will have the same standard link which is the Services Link

and Footer. It allows page jumping from anywhere within the portal.

2.1.2. Layout Colours & Font Sizes

myTRADELINK allows viewers to resize its font and the layout comes

with three (3) preset colours for viewing pleasure. Click on font icon to

resize the text or the colour icon to change the layout colour.

To reset the text size to default, click on font icon in the middle

2.1.3. Switching Language

myTRADELINK offers 2 types of language:

English

Bahasa Malaysia

To change the language between English and Bahasa Malaysia using

the language toggle

located on top of the page.

2.1.4. Search within myTRADELINK

Finding specific information may difficult and overwhelming by

browsing the pages one by one. The best way to find information is

through searching by keywords.

2.2. myTRADELINK Tools: Exchange Rates

One of myTRADELINK tools are exchange rates calculator. Visitors

may access the calculator through the Quick Info Tab: Exchange Rate

in home page or using navigation menu Information Exchange

Rate.

Clicking on the exchange rate code will redirect you to the exchange

rate calculator page.

Enter the rate in the foreign currency and click compare button.

Calculator will display the result at the bottom.

2.3. myTRADELINK Tools: Tariff Code

Tariff Code Tool is a comprehensive information system provided by

MITI for tariff code details. To access the tool, click on the link

provided either at Quick Info Tab: Tariff Code or using the navigation

menu Information Tariff Code.

After clicking the link, the browser will launch a different browser tab

and load the tool. Below are brief explanations on the Tariff Code tool.

1. System Navigation - Tariff Code tool have more than just

tariff code information. Browse through the navigation to get

more information.

2. Trade Agreement Tab - Tariff code in accordance to Trade

Agreement can be selected by clicking on the tab.

3. List of Tariff Code - Double click on the code to load the tariff

code details.

4. Detail - Elements of the tariff codes will be displayed in Detail

area.

5. Slider - There are several information in the slider. Click on

the header to view the details.

6. Search - Find the tariff code fast using keywords.

2.4. myTRADELINK Tools: Registered Cuscar

Registered CUSCAR allows visitors to search for registered CUSCAR.

The tool pulls the data from myPORT system which is one of Dagang

Net's systems.

Registered CUSCAR search can be done at two places:

1. Quick Info Tab: Registered CUSCAR

2. Use the Navigation Menu: Information Registered

1. Choose the search criteria by clicking on the drop down

menu for Query Port and By.

2. Choose records to be displayed per page by clicking No. of

records per page and specify the keyword at For.

3. Click Query

2.5. myTRADELINK Tools: Shipping Schedule

To search for the shipping schedule, it can be done at Quick Info Tab:

Shipping Schedule or go to Information Shipping Schedule

Use the search filter to narrow down search results. The result will be

shown in the data grid below the search filter.
