1 Corinthians 4:1-5

A mystery is something you have to work to

understand. In the Bible you not only have to

work to understand them you have to work to find them. He doesn’t list all the mysteries here in this passage; however we can

find them with a little work:

Page 5: Mystery

The mystery of Godliness

1 Timothy 3:16And without controversy

great is the mystery of godliness: God was

manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,

seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles,

believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Christ in you

Colossians 1:27To whom God would make

known what is the riches of the glory of

this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ

in you, the hope of glory:

Mystery of the Church

Ephesians 5:32This is a great mystery: but

I speak concerning Christ and the church.

(5:25-32, 1 Corinthians 6:16, Ephesians 2:6, 2

Corinthians 11:2)

Restoration of Israel

Romans 11:25For I would not, brethren,

that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that

blindness in part is happened to Israel, until

the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Restoration of Israel

• Romans 11:28-30– As concerning the

gospel, they are enemies– they are beloved for the

father's sakes.– Ye have now obtained

mercy through their unbelief:

• Galatians 3:28– There is neither Jew nor

Greek

• Romans 11:25-26– blindness in part is

happened to Israel, until– And so all Israel shall be

saved

thou sawest is that great city, which

Revelation 17:9And here is the mind

which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on

which the woman sitteth.

Mystery of Iniquity

2 Thessalonians 2:7For the mystery of iniquity

doth already work: only he who now letteth will

let, until he be taken out of the way.

Mystery of Iniquity

• Revelation 13:18– the number of a man;

and his number is Six hundred threescore and six

– 13:(3*6)

• 2 Chronicles 9:13– six hundred and

threescore and six talents of gold

• Ezra 2:13– The children of

Adonikam, six hundred sixty and six

– Adonikam (Lord of Rebellion)

• John 13:26– he had dipped the sop,

he gave it to Judas Iscariot

– 13:(2*13)

Mystery of Iniquity

John 17:12While I was with them in

the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

2 Thessalonians 2:3Let no man deceive you by

any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Mystery of Iniquity

John 6:70-7170 Jesus answered them,

Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

Acts 1:25That he may take part of

this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to

his own place.

Page 17: Mystery

Revelation 17:8

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go

into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not

written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that

was, and is not, and yet is.

Page 18: Mystery

In 96 AD, when John wrote the book of Revelation, Judas Iscariot no longer existed: he

had killed himself. • He was, because at one point he was alive. • He would "ascend out of the bottomless pit,"

or hell, during the end times. Nobody born today could have been alive prior

to 96 AD, could be gone in 96 AD, and then appear in the future.

The Rapture

1 Corinthians 15:51-52• 51 Behold, I shew you a

mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

• 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
