What are infographics?(Information graphics)
• visual representations of information, data or knowledge
• used where complex information needs to be explained quickly and clearly, such as in signs, maps, journalism, technical writing, and education
• also used extensively as tools by computer scientists, mathematicians, and statisticians to ease the process of developing and communicating conceptual information

• present a rich amount of information without intimidating you.
• or, sometimes they do intimidate, but make the digesting of the information much more bearable
• best practices for designing infographics followed by some examples which might help you learn a thing or two
YOUR JOB• Create an INFOGRAPHIC showing how the US
became a World Power between 1890 and 1920• You will be assigned a topic to research doing the
above• You will need to include at least ONE picture, and
ONE statistic / graph
• You must also write a an essay addressing the unit question: How do we use our power and influence? – Analyze the data used in your infographic and include
other supporting evidence in your writing.
