School in Spain and Ireland

The differences and the similarities

Page 2: My three months as an illegal immigrant

First of all, I would like to talk about trying to get legal documentation in your country...

It’s a nightmare!I think that even, my father and I do not have all the documentation needed so I’m very sorry if the police arrest me and carry me out of the classroom during this presentation, as I may be an illegal immigrant...

My school in Dublin, Ireland

·My school in Dublin is called Wesley College

·It’s a private school situated in the suburbs of the city

·Like here, I live very near the school and I usually travel there by bike

Page 4: My three months as an illegal immigrant

What I like about Wesley College

·I love to play sports and there’s lots of sports teams in Wesley·The majority of the teachers are very nice·There’s a large campus and lots of people, so you can make friends fast

Page 5: My three months as an illegal immigrant

What I don’t like in Wesley College

·Classes finish late, at 16:00, and normally we have sport after·Most days I don’t return home till about 19:30·Sometimes there’s too many people in some of the buildings and there’s no space in the cafeteria or the hall

My school in Alcalá de Xivert

● My school here in Spain is situated on the East coast of the country

● It’s located in a town and I have a house very near the school

● Normally, I only come out here to Spain during the summer where I spend most of my time down in Alcocebre, the nearby resort town

What I like about IES SERRA D’IRTA·The students and the teachers are very very nice, they help me a lot and talk to me in Castellano·The college is in a lovely location with great views which I can see from my classroom·The relationship which exists between the students and teachers is very good, like friends

The Similarities

Although the two schools are thousands of kilometres apart they more or less work the same way:·Monday is the worst day of the week·Everyone still hates homework·Friday is the best day of the week·Erasers still make excellent missiles

Page 9: My three months as an illegal immigrant

The Differences

·The weather is certainly an improvement to Ireland’s unpredictable rain every ten minutes·Finishing classes at 14:15 is definitely a change and the siesta has been an interesting experience!
