“There has been a death in our family”, (a family member, relative or friend). “A person who I loved and who loved me.Since that moment I have NOT felt the same. I am now a different person, how people interact with me or I with them has changed. I have no idea what has happened or how to “fix” it.”
I have heard many times from clients that this is their biggest puzzle around the loss of a loved one… “Relationships have changed, they are not the same as before. Spouse to spouse; brothers and sisters; best friends; or groups we interacted with. “IS IT ME?”No it is not just you….. It is the reality of death…. Death changes relationships.
The one thing to understand is… NO TWO people grieve the same.Not in time, intensity or behaviour.
