Getting used to coursework

The reason why I did this preliminary task was to teach myself how to get used to all of the different ways of editing on the computer. These can include, photo editing, word editing, etc.

With photo editing you can change the colour, change the sharpness, etc. Not only this, this enables the user to overlap other photos an overlap wording too. This also helps because you can choose what you want in front of what.

When I did my word editing, this enabled me to change font size, Change colour of font, edit the design of the words. Etc, This helped me in my paramilitary task by me being able to do ranges of editing.

Evidence of Research

The evidence of research I did was about looking at other magazines, and the way they styled it.

What I did here which is in relation to these magazines, is how they over lap some over photos. Giving it a 3d effect.

Other ways in how I used magazines techniques is by when typing something down it can be on a slant. And how it is in different font to make other sub-headings and header more noticeable.

Evidence of drafting This is the pricing tag to show customers how much this magazine will cost the reader.

This area of the magazine shows the Barcode.

This is the main photo of the magazine, and it shows the front of Skipwith.

This is a small Sub-heading showing the reader what is important.

This is the Front heading of the magazine, and it shows the name of the school, so it is recognizable to the readers. (Shiplake College)

In here it gives you a little bit of information about what's inside of the magazine, this should persuade the customer to read more and but buy the magazine.

What I learned

What i learned from doing this task, is many different techniques of editing a drafting my work.

In this I learned, how to edit photos, edit the whole paper and this enabled me to have any back ground i wanted. For example i has a drawing of someone reading in the background of my magazine. This was a great choice because it was relative to the school, considering this magazine was about Shiplake.

These techniques i learned, will help me in my real coursework by because i know how to edit photos and change the background to what fits the description of the magazine.

Magazine front covers

Front cover evaluation The Mast head of this magazine shows the bottom part of the header not showing. This indicates that this is a well know magazine and does not need to show the audience the full head title.

The cover line on this magazine shows us what is featured in the magazine.

This is were the mode of address is used in this magazine. This is how the text speaks to the audience.

The position of the main character in this magazine front cover shows a great amount of relation with the cover lines. For example the cover lines talk about him coming clean, this has a relation with his position because he looks vulnerable and angry. Also considering he is only wearing a small amount of clothing and Jewry, this has a relation with his vulnerability. This is then seen as unseal because it goes against the typical rap artist.

With the colours and presentation on the title it shows black towards top then fading down to a red where the main character is, this could have something to do which sets out the main character to be angry

Front cover evaluation The Mast head of this magazine does not show as many letters, this could indicate to show that this magazine is popular enough to only show a little bit of it. Also the mast head gives us an indication that there is a Varity of music that could be in this magazine.

This cover line of the magazine shows us who is featured in this magazine, this is done by the main photo then this showing us the name. (in big font) representing that she is important in this magazine.

The mode of address featured in this magazine shows the main character making eye contact with the audience, also the question and the quotes used shows how the magazine is speaking to us.

The position of this character takes up the whole magazine, showing it’s importance throughout the magazine. Also she maybe the main photo because she is a attractive woman and will persuade more people to buy this magazine because she is attractive.

The mode of address of this magazine is not done as clearly as most other magazines, such as Blender and Vibe. These magazine make eye contact with the audience,, but Karrang tend to not make as much eye contact as most other magazines.

On this magazine the position of the main character shows less importance because there is more writing over the character, however there is in big font the artist of band.

Audience research/profile This character that represents my target audience for my magazine, is the kind of people that I look for when they buy my magazine.

The title contents is usually placed in the top right and top left or the magazine. This is to give the main pitcher more space in the page.

The details of what is in the magazine is showed down the side of the magazine. This is also to give space to the main pitcher.

With this magazine, there the V in the background, which is the first letter of Vibe.

This add on at the bottom shows the reader areas of the magazine where other things may be more important. This is because The page numbers are highlighted red.

In this two page spread there is a large photo on the left hand side of the two page spread which shows the main photo. Also on this side it shows the cover lines beside the character.

In this double page spread,, instead of having the photo on one page, there are, writing on both pages with the photo behind the text. Also with this, there is a quote in stead of the title.

In this double page spread, it shows the photos avoiding the text. It shows a Varity of ways of filling then page. There are quotes, bigger headlines, the more important things are highlighted in pink and the text moulds around the photos.
