MY PORTFOLIO IN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
OUTLINE• The Student• Educational Technology in a Nutshell• Learning through Edtech 1 and Edtech 2• The student after Edtech
The StudentHi. My name is Reialyn D. Dimaranan. I am 19 years old from Mendez, Cavite. A third year student taking up Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Early Childhood Education at Cavite State University – Main campus.
Educational Technology is the effective use
of technological tools in learning. As a concept, it concerns an array of tools, such as media, machines and networking hardware, as well as considering underlying theoretical perspectives for their effective application.
As an academic discipline, the study of educational technology prepares individuals by helping them acquire a deeper understanding and mastery of:
• learning resources: messages, people, materials, devices, techniques and settings;
• processes for analyzing and devising solutions to those problems through research, theory, design, production, evaluation, utilization;
• the processes involved in organization and personnel management.
The focus is on effective processes to facilitate learning using technologies and understanding the impacts of technology on learners and organizations.
Forms of Technology Integration1.Blended Learning
2.Use of Mobile Devices
3.Interactive White boards

tool4.Co-constructive
tool5.Situating tool
Informative toolThe computer can provide information in various forms. (Text, graphics, sound and videos.)
Communication tool
Computers can be use as a source of communication.
Constructive toolWe use computer for manipulating information ,visualizing one’s understanding and building new knowledge.
Co-constructive toolThe students can use constructive tools to work cooperatively and construct a new knowledge.
Situating toolVirtual realityComputer can create 3-D images on display.
Computer as Tutor
The computer can be tutor in effect relieving the teacher of many activities in his personal role as classroom tutor.
Computer-assisted instruction (CAI)
Even with the available computer and CAI software, the teacher must;· Insure that students have the needed knowledge and skills for any computer activity· Decide the appropriate learning objectives· Plan the sequential and structured activities to achieve objectives· Evaluate the students’ achievements by ways of tests the specific expected outcomes.
During the computer activity proper in CAI the computer too plays its roles as it:· Act as a sort of tutor (the role traditional played by the teacher)· Provides a learning environment· Delivers learning instruction· Reinforces learning through drill and practice· Provides feedback

Learning through Edtech 1 and Edtech 2
I have learned that Educational Technology can empower teachers and learners, promote change and foster the development of twenty-first century skills.
And it aims to improve education. Technology should facilitate learning processes and increase performance of the educational system as it regards to effectiveness and/or efficiency.
Educational technology helps me to become efficient and prepared to the present and incoming technology in the future.
Lastly, I have learned that educational
software, like textbooks, is
only one tool in the learning
process. “Technology is
just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working
together and motivating them, the
teacher is most important. “– Bill
Gates
The Student after EdtechThe student after studying educational technology should be more flexible and more efficient in using technology.
Students have a better understanding on how technology is integrated in teaching learning process.
