MY INITIAL IDEAAs I am a passionate and a strong lover if the indie genre of music ranging from Ben Howard to Mumford and Sons as well as the 1975, my knowledge upon this genre is very broad as well, therefore I felt a music video upon the ‘indie/alternative’ genre means I could use my knowledge and love for the genre upon artists and existing video to inspire and guide me. Also, a duo artist in particular called ‘Oh Wonder’ was the spark to my inspiration as they are new and upcoming I saw them as a supporting act to a concert I went to and after purchasing their album one of their songs in particular caught my attention ‘Midnight Moon’ it was upbeat and catchy therefore we went with it. This song is indie genre and after listening to the lyrics I felt a narrative between two friends hiding their lusts for one another would create an engaging and upbeat narrative fitting the lyrics o midnight and mystery.

NARRATIVE THEORY

• A song with a narrative based music video the song includes a narrative story of the lyrics/ words being acted out in some way. This style relies on imagery to produce a story for the audience to follow and some narrative videos include clips from films that the song has been featured in. This seems to be used a lot in slower songs, and often tend to be love stories or indie genre. Therefore, I feel best suited to my idea would be a narrative theory to engage the audience and take them upon the journey.
