    Superhero City Script

    Picture Sync/Comm

    Opening sequence: Fast

    paced/timelapse/ W/S montage of

    famous London landmarks: London

    Eye, Nelsons Column, Big Ben.

    Comm: London 2014. As the daily hustle

    & bustle of commuting goes on

    something else moves around under the

    skin of the English capital.

    Seq: Fast paced/short cuts of C/Us,

    pans, tilts, of LoneDon and Strobe,

    posing as superheroes on street.

    Comm: Meet the Real Life Superheroes,

    who have made it their lifes mission to

    help those in need. Are they just

    wannabes, or do they really make a

    difference to peoples lives?

    W/S Rain City Superhero Movement

    (RCSM) members posing on street.

    TITLE: Superhero City

    ACT: LoneDons own footage of ComicCon.

    Comm: Our culture has grownaccustomed to the fantastical world of

    superheroes.

    ACT: LoneDons own footage of ComicCon blurred entirely and text overlays

    the image.

    Comm: Film culture has seen the biggest

    change in the rise of the superhero with

    mega-studios Marvel and DC

    dominating the cinemas.

    ACT: LoneDons own footage of ComicCon. Text overlays the images.

    Comm: Since the release of Iron Man in

    2008, 30 superhero films have been

    released and have grossed a combined

    total of 12-and-a-half-billion dollars.I/V: C/U Strobe in alleyway Strobe Sync: I wanna be a superherobecause being a superhero is

    awesome!

    W/S Strobe being interviewed by us. Comm: We begin our investigation by

    meeting up with Strobe.

    I/V: C/U Strobe in alleyway being

    interviewed by us intercut with photo

    of Phoenix Jones.

    Strobe Sync: introduces himself and

    RCSM: explains origin - Phoenix Jones

    in Seattle.

    I/V: C/U Strobe intercut with W/S

    LoneDon Knight walking towards

    camera.

    Strobe Sync: explains how he met

    LoneDon and that he invited him to

    join RCSMI/V: C/U LoneDon in alleyway LoneDon Sync: introduces himself and

    talks about RCSM

    ACT: W/S Mr Black arriving; walking

    into focus. Greeting Strobe, LoneDon

    and us.

    Comm: This is Mr Black. He has only

    recently become a real life superhero,

    and has just joined the rain city

    superhero movement. He is currently on

    his one year probation period, after

    which he'll receive RCSM status.

    ACT: Rambo arriving on his bike,

    greeting everybody.

    Comm: Shortly after, Rambo rolls up on

    his bike. Rambo is a more establishedmember of the rain city superhero

    movement, after being asked by

    LoneDon Knight to join him on

    handouts.

    ACT: W/S and C/U of the superheroes

    preparing handouts, C/U of cameras

    attached to Strobe and LoneDonscostumes, then W/S and M/S of

    superheroes gathered together

    discussing the day ahead. Walking

    away from camera together.

    Comm: Today, our heroes are meeting

    up here to prepare for the days events.

    Strobe always carries his camera withhim. He and LoneDon have body cams

    attached to them at all times whilst they

    patrol. This is for personal protection

    and safety, as well as documenting their

    work.

    I/V: C/U LoneDon in alleyway, intercut

    with ACT of public staring and pointing

    at them in the street.

    LoneDon Sync: publics reaction totheir costumes.

    I/V: C/U Strobe in alleyway intercut

    with actuality of public staring andpointing at them in the street.

    Strobe Sync: discusses some extreme

    reactions to their costumes

    ACT: W/S of superheroes walking

    along the street.

    Comm: Our heroes have set off on their

    homeless handout, but they encounter a

    problem.

    I/V: C/U LoneDon in alleyway intercut

    with actuality of police speaking to

    superheroes.

    LoneDon Sync: explaining that the

    police at first didnt like them, but nowtheir relationship has improved.

    ACT: C/U superheroes walking away

    from police towards us, and explaining

    their encounter with the police.

    Mr Black Sync: explaining encounter

    with the police and where theyreheaded for.

    I/V: C/U LoneDon in alleyway LoneDon Sync: explaining that they

    now have a fairly good relationship

    with police.

    ACT: Superheroes approaching a

    homeless man, LoneDon sitting with

    him, intercut with interview with

    LoneDon

    LoneDon Sync: explains why they help

    the homeless specifically and that he

    too used to be homeless.

    ACT: E/C/U pack-ups intercut with

    actuality of LoneDon giving a homeless

    man a pack-up.

    Comm: Our heroes carry small hand out

    packs with them, containing a

    toothbrush, tissues and food, amongst

    other essentials.

    I/V: Strobe in alleyway intercut with

    ACT of RCSM sitting with homeless

    person

    Strobe Sync: talks about relationship

    with homeless people

    I/V: C/U homeless man sitting on

    street

    Homeless person Sync: speaks about

    what he thinks of superheroes, and

    how he feels about being homless.

    Seq: Thames Riverside SFX: City ambience

    I/V: M/S homeless man and dog sitting

    on street

    Homeless man with dog Sync: talks

    about what he thinks of their costumesand how he was pleasantly surprised

    by them helping.

    ACT: RCSM gathering RCSM Sync: discussing what they

    should do next.

    ACT: RCSM crossing the road to

    another homeless person.

    SFX: City ambience

    I/V: LoneDon in alleyway intercut withACT of RCSM helping homeless person.

    LoneDon Sync: talks about his day job

    I/V: Strobe in alleyway. Strobe Sync: talks about his day job

    Seq: M/S pan of RCSM posing on street Comm: The fact that they use their

    spare time to help the homeless, shows

    their level of dedication and

    commitment.

    ACT: LoneDon on the phone, RCSM

    members with homeless person

    Comm: Right now, LoneDon is

    contacting a translator in order to

    communicate with a man. He is unable

    to speak English.ACT: Mr Black on street Mr Black Sync: explaining homeless

    mans needs and what theyre doing tohelp

    ACT: RCSM helping homeless man Comm: They managed to find a

    translator, who was able to assist our

    heroes, allowing them to give him what

    he needed.

    I/V: LoneDon in alleyway intercut with

    ACT of LoneDon helping homeless.

    LoneDon Sync: talking about his past,

    how he was bad and has now changed

    his ways, helping the homeless has

    helped him.

    C/A: Pigeons Comm: After a long day of handouts, our

    heroes reflect on the days events

    I/V: LoneDon and rest of RCSM in

    urban road intercut with C/U of each

    RCSM member, C/A graffiti

    LoneDon Sync: discusses the days

    events and the future of the RCSM.

    I/V: Strobe in alleyway Strobe Sync: if people looked out for

    each other then the world would be a

    better place

    ACT: RCSM walking down alleyway

    away from camera.

    Comm: Their actions may seem odd at

    first, but after seeing the small changesit can do to someones life, it goes to

    show just how easy it is to be a

    superhero.
