Genre conventions

• The genre of my movie is going to be action and romance. One of the key conventions for romance is ‘boy meets girl’ this is very common in the romance drama. On the other hand, the conventions for action movies are completely different. They feature fast cars, guns and many more things you would expect to see. I chose these two genres because you don’t see them together very often which makes my movie unique.

Plot line & Budget

• Two young teenagers suffer from the panic disorder and they meet one day and fall in love. The girl is

kidnapped and the boy tries to rescue her.

I am going to have quite a high budget on my movie, this is because my actors are well known.

I chose these actors, because they are not that heard of and they are younger actors which makes them suitable for the target audience. They can be seen as a unique selling point because some people will recognise them from previous films, which makes them want to see this film.

Film Director• My choice of film director is Josh Boone. He is very good at directing movies and

is well known for two great films. I decided to chose him because of the past movies he has directed which makes him seem like a good director to pick.

Target Audience & Film Location

• My movie is going to be 15+, this is because a panic disorder is mentioned which doesn’t seem suitable for younger viewers. Stereotypically, this movie would appeal more to girls because it is romance, but anyone can watch it. It could also appeal to boys too, because the action genre is shown also. My film is going to be based on the streets of New York City.
