my favourite singer. sting
TRANSCRIPT
Biography Sting was born on October 2, 1951 in Newcastle-
upon-Tyne, a large industrial city in northern England. His real name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Samir. His mother had a musical education. She taught her son to the wonderful world of music by teaching him to play the piano from his childhood. After meager wages for his work on the road and as a musical teacher Sting had an opportunity to move to London and play professionally. An American drummer Stewart Copeland noticed him, and persuaded him to do rock. He got the nickname "Sting" because he loved to wear black sweaters in a gold stripe, which made him look like a bumblebee.
Career In 1977, Sting together with
Stewart Copeland and Henry Padovani founded the band "The Police". At the new team he took over the functions of not only the bass player, but also the lead singer. In addition, he owned the authorship of the majority of their songs. In 1981, Sting left the group, and in 1985 he released his first solo album "The Dream Of The Blue Turtles".
