my fair lady
DESCRIPTION
Based upon George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion and with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, My Fair Lady concerns Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phoneticist, so that she may pass as a well born lady. With classic songs such as “I Could Have Danced all Night”, “Wouldn’t it be Loverly”, “Get me to the Church on Time” and “On the Street Where you Live”, you will certainly be whistling as you leave the theatre!TRANSCRIPT

Letter from the PublishersDear Readers,
At a time when hard copy print publications are rapidly disappearing in favor of the ipad, iphone, kindle or whatever the next device may be that replaces print...it’s comforting to know that there are venues that exist where we still cherish the hard copy printed word. You know what we’re talking about...that special time just before the curtain goes up at TPAC, Schermerhorn, The Franklin Theatre and the Martha Rivers Ingram Center for the Performing Arts at Vanderbilt. Clearly the performing arts venue setting is going to be the last bastion for print in America.
If you or your company is interested in advertising, please let us know. We offer a very unique advertising package that not only includes all seven Playbill publications listed below, but also our very popular newsstand annual guide, Nashville Arts & Entertainment. We are the only print publisher in Nashville that offers our advertisers newsstand exposure plus the finest venues where you have the confidence in knowing that your advertising message is actually being seen. No fast forward-ing, no channel surfing, and no distractions before the curtain goes up...everyone is focused on their Playbill.
We are thankful for all our readers and advertisers...couldn’t do it without you!
Enjoy the show!

THE UNPARALLELED BMW 528i SEDAN.
When comparing the BMW 528i Sedan to rivals like the Mercedes E350, some stark differences quickly come to light. To start, the 528i is faster than the E350, and more fuel-effi cient, with 34 mpg hwy vs. 30 with the Mercedes.* The 528i widens its lead with a comprehensive maintenance plan (that costs you nothing), and a lower MSRP than the E-Class. Looks like it’s time for a test drive of the 528i today.
* Fuel-effi ciency claims based on EPA estimates. The 528i achieves 23/34 city/highway mpg, the Mercedes-Benz E350 achieves 20/30 city/highway mpg. Actual mileage may vary. For comparison purposes only. Speed claim based on published 0–60 acceleration times and MSRP claims based on published information from manufacturer websites. 1 Whichever comes fi rst. aBout Studio tenn
Studio Tenn Theatre Company was founded in the fall of 2009 by nationally recognized director and artist Matt Logan, Emmy Award winning producer Philip Hall and broadway and film actress Marguerite Lowell Hall. The company’s inaugural production of Thorton wilder’s Our Town was an enormous success and enough to convince Studio Tenn’s founders that this was something which could continue! Shortly thereafter Jake Speck left the broadway cast of Jersey Boys to join Studio Tenn as its Managing director. Together, Speck and Logan produced Studio Tenn’s first two seasons to much critical acclaim and are thrilled to be continuing their work as the resident professional theatre company of the franklin Theatre!
Studio Tenn is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and we cannot operate without the generous support of our sponsors and donors! It is the mission of Studio Tenn to use a rich combination of talentfrom Nashville and broadway to bring classic works of drama and musical theatre to life in Middle Tennessee; and, to provide innovative educational programs designed to entertain, educate, and inspire the rising artists of our unique community.
If you would like more information on how you can donate, sponsor or get involved please visit our website at www.studiotenn.com or email [email protected].

Jake moved back to his hometown of Nashville in 2010 after completing a 2 year run on Broadway in the multiple Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys. Most recently Jake made his Studio Tenn debut as Juror #8 in Twelve Angry Men and has continued shooting his recurring role as Steve on the ABC series Nashville. This winter he shot the feature film Elizabeth working alongside some of his favorite Nashville actors. After high school and a couple of years spent performing locally in Nashville and singing with the group Nickajack (developmental record deal, Asylum Records) Jake moved to New York City, having been awarded the highest national scholarship offered by the American Musical and dramatic Academy. Since graduating from AMdA, Jake has worked with Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler On The Roof), Two-time Tony Award winning director des McAnuff (Big River, The who’s Tommy, Jersey Boys), Academy Award winning writer Marshall Brickman (Annie Hall) and five time Tony Award winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman (The Producers). Mr. Speck’s professional career has taken him across the country performing in such shows as Kiss Me Kate, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Forever Plaid, The Melville Boys and many more. In 2005 Jake appeared in the film version of Mel brooks’ hit musical The Producers. with Jersey Boys Mr. Speck has performed live on the Emmy Awards, the Tony Awards, at the Taste of Chicago festival, sang the 7th Inning Stretch at wrigley field, performed on the steps of city hall for the world Series Champion New York Yankees and was one of four Broadway cast members invited to the white House to perform for the President. It is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to return to Nashville and create a theatre company in the city that inspired him to make the arts his life’s work. Thanks and love to Emily, Nash & Noah!
Mr. Logan is a graduate of Pepperdine university where he apprenticed under Theatre legend John Raitt and received the John Raitt Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Theatre Arts. As an actor he has preformed with Performance Riverside, McCoy Rigby Entertainment, Tennessee Repertory Theatre, Rattlestick Theatre NY, the Actors fund of NY, Lincoln Center and San Francisco Opera. He has worked on the production side of multiple Broadway shows and assisted Tara Rubin Casting in the casting of Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys, Spamalot and Shrek. Mr. Logan has also reached national acclaim as a Broadway illustrator. In 2010 The New York Times crowned him “Heir to the Hirschfeld tradition”. His portraits have found their way into the private collections of celebrity clients Hugh Jackman, Bernadette Peters, Jude Law, Martin Short, Mike Nichols, dolly Parton, Mary Tyler Moore, Katie Holmes, Harry Connick Jr. and Morgan freeman. He began his professional directing career at the age of nineteen. In the fall of 2009 Mr. Logan became the founding Artistic director of Studio Tenn, Nashville’s newest professional theatre and resident company of the historic Franklin Theatre. He has since directed two critically acclaimed seasons with Studio Tenn.
