Workshop at St Mark’s primary school
• 10 children between the ages 7-9• Carry out a drawing task• Carry out a questionnaire
• They enjoyed humanised animals
• Strong texture and detail• Realistic colours
• Dislike simplistic images • Dull colours• Overly bright colours• Characters that were overly
abstract and ‘silly’
![Page 13: My epq project](https://reader038.vdocuments.mx/reader038/viewer/2022102700/546fecf9af7959635a8b48b1/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Experimentation Pop-ups
• Engaging and stimulating• Materials are expensive• Materials are easily ripped and destroyed
![Page 14: My epq project](https://reader038.vdocuments.mx/reader038/viewer/2022102700/546fecf9af7959635a8b48b1/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Experimentation Water colours
• Works well for landscapes• Easily blended • Tones can be created • Lacks detail
![Page 15: My epq project](https://reader038.vdocuments.mx/reader038/viewer/2022102700/546fecf9af7959635a8b48b1/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Experimentation Collage
• The materials can be drawn on, making it great for backgrounds
• The Tissue paper can start to lift• Easily ripped/ destroyed
![Page 16: My epq project](https://reader038.vdocuments.mx/reader038/viewer/2022102700/546fecf9af7959635a8b48b1/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Experimentation Pen
• Great texture• Water with pen creates good tones • Works with both abstract and realistic
images
• Biro was to thick and rough to create detail• Fine liner pens (0.05-0.3mm) didn’t work well
for abstract characters
![Page 17: My epq project](https://reader038.vdocuments.mx/reader038/viewer/2022102700/546fecf9af7959635a8b48b1/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Experimentation Digital illustration
• Limited ability• Out dated technology• Hard to produce smooth lines and curves
![Page 18: My epq project](https://reader038.vdocuments.mx/reader038/viewer/2022102700/546fecf9af7959635a8b48b1/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Experimentation Acrylic
• Strong detail and tonal value• Great for realistic characters and
backgrounds• Materials are expensive and time
consuming

ExperimentationSoft pastel• Easily blended • Good tonal value• Works well with both
abstract and realistic images
• Can be smudged easily and ruins the quality of the image.
