For the first time, voting will all take place online. Beginning today, you can go to the online voting site where you will register for free if you did not registere during the nomination phase. Through May 31, readers can cast a bal- lot once every 24 hours for their favorites in all the categories – nearly 300 nominations total related to businesses, services, professionals and favorite foods and places to eat, and more. You will need to be 18 years and older to vote, and participants will be able to cast votes once every 24 hours during the voting period. Simply go to our homepage at mineralwellsin- dex.com and at the top of the page look for the Readers’ Choice banner, click it, and start voting. Contest rules are listed there as well. Palo Pinto County began par- ticipating in RFL more than 19 years ago. This year’s relay for life took place on April 25 at the Mineral Wells High School track. Palo Pinto General Hospital puts together a team every year, going above and beyond their work on the clock, taking health- care to a more personal level. This year, PPGH’s goal was to raise $10,000, PPGH Relay For Life Team Captain Sharon Barham said, something they beat by more than 33 percent, with a grand total of $13,580.12 raised. This means Team PPGH raised more than any other team in PPC this year. Their team consisted of more that 20 individuals, with some gaining more than $1,000 a piece. Individuals breaking $1,000 include: • Sharon Barham, $2,037.44. • Brendan Greer, $1,007.72. • Kenneth Howell, $1,022.16. • Mary Howell, $2,847.76. • Judy Lowe, $2,181.43. • Rena Wilson, $1,457.13.
