Yorkshire terrier, popularly known as Yorkies are generally very picky eaters. Givinglove and attention is not the only thing that keeps these little toy breeds happy, butthey need enough nutrition too. If your Yorkie is a finicky eater you need to ensurethat she is getting proper nutrition so that it could grow up into healthy, happy aswell as well­behaved dogs.

If you were already having a Yorkie since she was a puppy then you must bealready familiar with her eating habits. The same way, if you opt for an adultdog as a pet, then probably you may not have any idea of the eating habit ofthe pet. In this case, you may ask the veterinarian about the feeding habits ofthe Yorkie.

One should avoid feeding her canned food exclusively. These soft foods mayweaken the dog’s teeth while leading to tooth loss and this loss of teeth maylead to the greater chances of becoming malnourished. So,  choose healthyfood for dog. In case, if you opt to use canned food, make sure that you mixdry  food with  it.  This  will  help   in  maintaining good dental  health  of   theYorkie. 

One has to maintain a strict schedule for feeding these puppies. Decide if youare going to feed your Yorkie once or twice a day and on what time you willgive her food. After deciding this, you must stick to this schedule. Also, givethem maximum 15 minutes to eat their food and then remove the food dish.Make sure that you don’t leave the food throughout the day. In case, if youare having more than one dog then feed them separately.
