RECORD LABELS

THE BIG 4

These are four of the main music companies. EMI,

warner, Sony and universal. These four monopolies the

music industry owning over 70% of the market. They

have 1000’s of the best and well known artists which

continually have number one records and albums.

INDEPENDENT MUSIC LABELS

Independent have as little shares in the music industry as

they own less that 30%. They are continually competing

with the big four. As they have less money an control there

music videos are less impressive as the other. However

Adele was signed to a independent music label showing us

that even though they aren't as big they still can reach

number ones and world recognition.
