• There are many different genres in music, one of which I need to pick in order to help find the conventions to base my music video on.
• In this presentation I will go through favoured genres and pick the one I feel will work best.
• A popular American style which originated from Southern United States in the 1920’s
• Many sub-categories to country music e.g. country western, country pop, country rock.
• Well known country artist are people such as; Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton and Billy Ray Cyrus.

• R&B originated in the 1940’s and is a genre of popular african american music
• the term "R&B" became used to refer to music styles that incorporated electric blues, as well as gospel and soul music. By the 1970s, rhythm and blues was used as a term for soul and funk. In the 1980s, a newer style of R&B developed, becoming known as "Contemporary R&B".
