At Present there are many bands & musicians in Ireland lacking clear opportunities and direction

as a result of a music industry going under a profound change. The availability of music online and

inadequate digital rights management, leaves established industry lagging behind searching for a

quick �x. emerging talent in this country is facing an insurmountable challenge to participate in a

failing industry.

KNOCKANSTOCKAN 2012

Doing our best to tackle this obstacle, Knockanstockan was created as a possible solution. The plan was to bypass the traditional role of airplay, and expose audiences to emerging talent in a festival environment. We made it the focus to promote one event that attracts music lovers to one place rather than scattering our e�orts. We also found this to be the most authentic way to showcase over 100 acts in a single weekend, to receptive audiences in their thousands and this is increasing year on year.

Film KnockanStockan produces a festival documentary and the majority of bands performances are �lmed and will available for use as promotional material for each band after the festival.

Industry Area The industry area is a space where industry meet acts playing at KnockanStockan, it doubles up as the green room where media can interview bands before or after their performance.

The submission process aims to attract the best emerging talent from around the country. Acts apply online by submitting a brief bio, contact details and good quality audio tracks.

Each application is reviewed by a panel made up of both established musicians and promoters. We are open to all genres of music and pride ourselves on giving every submission the time it deserves.

Where possible we try to see as many submissions play at the Primal Jelly Social Club on Wednesday nights in The Mezz.
