Tell us a little bit about yourself...

My name is Peter Kemp and I am living in Delf in the always rainy country called Holland.I am working as a reelance photographer. I learned photography rom a sel-taught angle andthanks to some o my riends, being photographers themselves! My aim is trying to createstory telling pictures with a smile.

How did you first get into photography?

In ormer days I loved to draw little pictures… comic figures playing a role into scenes. Withdigital photography I got the tools to fit in all details into my photo stories, which are runningthrough my head all day. So that was the main reason to start with digital photography… assoon as I push the button my « drawing in ull color » is there.

Did your early photographic goals include earning a living from photography, or did it startas a way to express yourself creatively?

It started and still is a way to express mysel creatively.

What do you think is the most important factor in making a good photograph?

What is good and what is bad? .. can you tell me?Well I try to create some mystery and glamour into my pics. First by trying to create a mood.I am ond o the old dutch painters like Johannes Vermeer. I am living in the same place Ver-meer has lived and worked… in a town called Delf… does that ring a bell? Secondly by ask-ing my beautiul models to join me into my projects. Tey are the key actor creating the right

mood to set up my story telling pics. Most o my models became my riends . Tey are goodlooking people, but – more important – they are beautiul inside. All credits to them…

And about what is making a photographer a good one? A passion, sense for beauty, imagi-nation, technique...?

Like I said earlier: to me there is no good or bad , but more something like one phoyo is moreappealing to me than another. In my opinion the key actor is: creativity.

How does your profession as an artist influence your life?

Being busy with preparing my projects takes a lot o time. Preparing my work is somethinglasting or weeks up to months. So in that way it takes a lot .... but it is un, since I like to do it!

Do you feel that you see things around you differently than others?

Haaaha might be ... ! But doesn’t everybody see the world in its own way ...

Your photographs are quite provocative to the most people but still their response is very positive. Nobody stays aloof. Why that type of photography?

Are they provocative? In my scenes I like to ocus on details. With just a quick look, it is thegeneral pic to observe in color and scenery. But a deeper look might open the door to other journies. I hope it is like a reeze in time ... a stopping by...I hope people want to stop by and

stay or a longer look....I like to create little stories within the story. All details are thought olong beore the camera clicks.

Could you share a favorite recent image and tell us a little of the back story behind it?

Tis is about a photo called the Rose. I did this one together with the wonderul and creativemodel Ophelia Overdose. She did created this wonderul wardrobe especially or our shoot.And also created the wonderul hair hersel. She knows how to model and when I told her myintension was to create a painting she understood immediately. Ophelia did so well. It is a de-

light to be able to work with her. So we were able to create our painting pretty quick. Te postprocessing did the rest; it emphasized the painting look alike. And we are both happy with theresult.

How do you see yourself in the future?

Enjoying creatin story telling pictures like I do now ...

Freydoon RassFreydoon Rassouli is a visionary artist who has a unique way o reflecting spiritual experi-ence by expressing images rom his subconscious onto canvas. He ofen stimulates creativityby meditating at dawn watching the sunrise in a natural setting, or by envisioning a mystical journey through a night sky. His style does not ocus on what is literally seen by the artist, butby surrendering conceptually to what is elt on a deeper level.Rassouli’s painting technique is known as Fusionart, a style that he has created and registeredand is presently teaching to many artists in Southern Caliornia. Te main theme o Fusionartis cosmic unity. Te painting style is derived rom mysticism, near-eastern spirituality, and aoundation in European painting technology.

Te conceptual approach o Fusionart has been developing in Rassouli since early childhood,and it is evident in his paintings, relies, architectural design, sculptures, book illumina-tions and murals. He migrated to the United States in 1963, where he studied painting andarchitecture at the University o New Mexico, and was honored with the Leadership Awardrom the Institute o International Education. Although he began his proessional career asan architect, creating three-dimensional structures to satisy his artistic drive, Rassouli’s pas-sion or painting persevered. Trough time, he has created hundreds o artworks that havereceived global recognition or his unique Fusionart style.Rassouli’s worldwide exhibits include numerous solo and collective shows as well as interna-tional art expositions. His most recent book, Inspirations o the Heart is an empowering bookthat uses a collection o Rassouli’s artwork with meditative thoughts by Michael Beckwith,D.D. Selective paintings by Rassouli appear in many books, including: Jung, Journey o rans-ormation and Language o Souls , and on numerous magazine and book covers.Te mural entitled Angel o Unity , a painting that spans 55 eet tall by 1100 eet wide, is oneo Rassouli’s latest creations. Paul RobertsPaul Roberts was born in iverton Devon in 1948. Brought up by artist parents in Wales. Hestudied at Newport, Cardiff and Goldsmiths colleges o Art. Gaining early recognition in the1970’s his career as a painter was interrupted when he had worldwide success with the rock-band Sniff’n’Te ears in 1978. Commitments to music meant that until 2000 time needed todevelop his career as a painter was to some degree curtailed. In 1988 he moved with his am-ily to Somerset, where he has continued to paint and make music. His work can currently beseen at the Plus One Gallery London.

Anna Vinograd Anna Vinogradova was born on January 3, 1975 in Krasnodar.In 1994 she entered the Yaroslavl Art School, which she lef one year later and entered thepreparatory course o Graphic aculty o Repin Academic Institute o Painting, Sculpture andArchitecture.Already in the year 1996 she became a student o Graphic aculty o Repin Academic Instituteo Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, where she was taught rom 1996 to 1999 in studios oV.Starov, I. Razdrogin and V. Vetrogonskij. Afer the third course, Anna Vinogradova decidedto withdraw rom the Graphics department and moved to the third course o the aculty oPainting in the studio under the direction o V.Pimenov, where she continued her studies,

guide by such masters as N.Blokhin, N. Lysak. In year 1999 she produced a series o costumes’sketches or the cycle o ballets -mysteries o the Vologda choreographic ensemble called“Russian Ballet 21st century”.Perormances were implemented in year 2000 under the state program ‘Te Great Ustyug —Homeland o Father Frost’. In 2001, together with A. Vladimirov, Anna made a mosaic “OurLady o Vladimir” or the plaque-chapel in honor o 2000 years o Christianity in the city oVologda. In 2006 Anna graduated rom the Institute with diploma work called “Te proces-sion o Shrovetide train”, assessed with mark “excellent”.Afer graduating rom the Institute in summer 2006, Anna Vinogradova was invited to theUSA, where she has become a real member o the Association o America’s portrait painters.At that time she also took part in a Show-exhibition in Florida. Vinogradova’s paintings aresold in best U.S. galleries in Chicago, Caliornia, Florida, New Mexico. Her paintings are alsosuccessully sold on the art markets o China and Russia. Te artist has participated in morethan 20 travelling exhibitions held by the “Gallery o 20th century painting” o St. PetersburgArt Center in China. She has also taken part in travelling exhibitions, organized by “Pered- vizhniki (the Itinerants) o 21st century” stream in Russia and the European Union, whereher works o art are under intense interest.

In 2008 Anna Vinogradova joined the St. Petersburg Branch o Russia’s Union o Artists. InMay 2009 Anna Vinogradova, together with Gennady Bernadsky and Yuri Kalyuta, rep-resented masters o Russia at the “Repin academist’s exhibition” in Beijing at the Palace oNationalities o China. Paintings o Anna Vinogradova are in private collections in Russia, theUnited States, Japan, Holland, Germany, France and other European countries, as well as innumerous private collections and museums in China.

Diana LemieuxI would like to know who Diana is...a person behind the beauty she is creating...

I am rom Boston and have lived there my entire lie except or 4 years that I spent in Brook-lyn. I’ve always been very involved in animal rescue and at one point in my lie had 9 rescuedpets. Recently I got married and have my first child on the way.

Why do you create photographs, what is your purpose?

When I’m creating a photograph, it completely changes my mood. It makes me eel alive and

careree. I see it as an escape rom the stresses that can consume us in lie. And there is nobetter eeling than when people respond to the artwork that you create mostly or yoursel.

What inspires you, what moves you?

Tings like walking in the woods with my dogs, because it clears my head and gives me newideas. I’ve always elt moved by the works o Degas, Dali, Munch and photographers like imWalker and Annie Liebowitz. I am orever inspired by the films and musicals I watched asa child with my mother. She was a huge influence on my artistic lie. Also, my ather was aphotographer and when he died, I came across a box o photos that he had taken in the SouthPacific during WWII. Finding stuff like that inspires me.

What I enjoy about your photography is that you have the abbility to connect with dreams,imagination in a way that we can understand it...how are dreams and especially imagina-tion important to you?

Te possibilities o one’s imagination are endless. I have always had very vivid dreams and a

wild imagination, even waking up to hallucinations as a child. My mother always encouragedmy storytelling and interest in the arts and or that I eel lucky. In photography, I never wantto eel stuck in a certain category or genre. aking the time to explore your imagination is anincredible tool.

What is the most important element of your photographs? Is it your subjects, is it the process

or is it your vision and concepts?

I’m not sure I can say there is one most important element in my photographs. Sometimes the

subject is key or a particular idea I have but it’s when everything comes together - the subject,the concept and vision, the processing – that completes the piece and turns it into somethingeven more magical than I could have ever planned or.

Do you have a favorite image?

I think it’s a toss up between two o my sel portraits. Tey were both taken quite sometimeago and I think I am drawn to these images because it reminds me o a time when I wasn’tthinking so hard about my photography and trying to come up with concepts. Tey were ac-cidental, unplanned shots.

How do you see yourself in the future...what do you wish to achieve?

I always want to be creating and trying new things. I love coming up with ideas or fine artconceptual pieces but lately I have ound some interest in editorial and ashion photography. Ihad my first experience shooting ashion in Brooklyn a ew weeks ago and it was wonderul. Isee mysel traveling, taking a lot o pictures and teaching photography workshops. My goal isto be a better photographer and person every day.

Patrick BoussiPatrick Boussignac was born in 1956, in Villejui, France.Drawing and painting have been a part o his lie since childhood. He paints his first canvas atthe age o 8, while studying with Gilles Cardiou, an expert on trompe l’oeil. He knows he willbecome a painter. Encouraged by his teachers, Patrick explores various techniques and settlesupon oil as his main medium.Afer graduating in graphic arts he is admitted at the Escole Superieure d’Arts appliques inParis. He improves his knowledge o old techniques with the group “ Peintresde la Realite “.Patrick is particularly interested in eighteenth and nineteeth century painting. Anja Millen Far Away

Born somewhere at the end o the world, so called Germany, Anja spent her entire youththere, ollowed by some years as cook in France. In 1984 Anja started to visualize her ownworld in paintings and sketches. Strange, monstrous, nify and sometimes beautiul.

“I consider myself an artist, writer and hermit.”

Afer visiting the european academy o art, the school o design and art, she discovered thewonderul, unlimited world o digital art in 1998. Since a ew years she bans the demons inher head also in photography, still learning, still getting crazy by all those surreal antasies in

her mind.Anja is currently living in a cave, on top o the highest mountain, scratching little stickmen inthe wall and thinking o publishing a volume o photographs or an illustrated book.

“Te world in my eyes seems to be a remix between zombies and aliens. I’m definitly not a zom-bie.”

Her art is shown and eatured in different virtual galleries. She is currently Working with mu-sicians creating their CD coverart.Anja made MMORPG concept arts and character studies or the RPG Genre and is lookingorward to create bookcovers or antasy novels.
