March saw our second hotel come to life! We are pleased to announce the soft opening of the Salalah Rotana Resort, the largest in the city by room size and the largest free-standing hotel in Oman. The hotel’s 400 rooms are set in

between an elaborate network of manmade waterways that connect all waterfront hotels and residential areas in Salalah Beach to the Arabian Sea.

venues including a lobby lounge café, all-day dining and specialty restaurants as well as a beach restaurant. The hotel is fully-equipped to cater to business visitors with a selection of meeting rooms, a business centre and includes Bodylines leisure and fitness club, a large outdoor pool, massage services, and a kids’ club. Guests can rest, relax and rejuvenate at Rotana’s home-grown spa concept Zen the spa which is derived from ancient holistic Asian philosophies.

The resort has been carved from desert rock as the hotel rises out of the water, making it part of the landscape. In-room furnishings including beds, tables and sofas have been integrated into the main walls while Arabesque geometric designs and stone archways, constructed using traditional techniques, resemble an atrium and provide areas of contemplation. Natural

light covers every corridor in the hotel as bright furniture provides the contrast against matt-finished walls, changing color and texture as the shadows move and a new area of the hotel is bathed in sunlight throughout the day. High ceilings and a central, internally-lit handmade red clay dome complement the wooden finishing and decorative mashrabiya latticework windows.

Floating Fuel Station lateSt addition to Jebel Sifah Powered by Al Maha Petroleum, the Floating Fuel Station is up and running. Boaters can now use the station which has a 24m long fueling pontoon and has 12m long gangway, giving them easy access during tides and allows customers to obtain

Sifawy goeS daRk foR earth hour Guests at the Sifawy Boutique Hotel showed their full support by joining Earth Hour 2014 and pledged to use our power to make a change. The event took place on March 29th from 8:30pm to 9:30pm local time, where for one hour all non-essential lighting

Jebel Sifah joined forces with the Muscat Triathlon Club to host the club’s last event of the winter season, the Off-Road Sprint and Super Sprint Triathlon. The Muscat Triathlon Club designed the course to allow participants to take in all the sights

and sounds of the Jebel Sifah as they pushed their limits in the three race events including swimming, running and cycling. The triathlon took place at Sifawy Boutique Hotel on April 25th 2014 with a good attendance of thirty plus participants.
