KBS Foundation was formed by a group of Individuals belonging to various local ALM’s of Khar, Bandra and Santacruz.

The raison d’etre was to take up projects to improve the quality of life of the community and to push forward ideas that were not on the radar of government agencies.

The first project was the extension of the Carter Road Promenade by 180 meters.

STRATEGY

The strategy was to plant the seed of a genuine ‘car free’ day in the minds of citizens.

We would used this space as a platform for community activity, health sport, education on environment & alternate means of transport, music & recreation, retail. “A simple fun day” out without traffic, honking, exhaust & pollution.

This was to serve as a thought provoker as to the quality of life we could generate for ourselves if we all collectively decided to give our cars a rest for a day.
