    Gen Xers learned independence early in lifeand turned it into a valuable hallmark as theyprogressed into the working world

    Just as they hit the working world, the 1980economic downturn occurred. Suddenly theirfuture looked crowded. Competition for jobswas tight. For the first time in history, thisgeneration was being told they would not beable to replicate the lifestyles of their parents.

    This generation has grown up in an era oftechnology. They have always known cable tv,cell phones, pagers, answering machines,

    laptop computers and video games Whereas Boomers saw the future as theirs

    and Gen X found the future disheartening, thisgeneration questions whether they will have afuture. Columbine shooting and September 11have deeply affected this generation.

    Gen Y Boomer parents are very involved in

    their childrens lives providing for many

    emotional, educational and physical needs

    This generation has received a lot of praise

    and reward throughout their life for their
