Long ago, beore the days o gigantic Mufns &Bottomless coee, there was Clement Mugg & Joshua Bean,

two men who dreamed big. Mates &Buddies they werent. As a matter o act, they were sworn enemies, with Clement a

frm supporter o the Union, and Joshua a proud Conederate.

Not long ater the last cannon was fred and the American (un)Civ il War was declared over, both Mugg &Bean turned their

back on their beloved homelands and headed west. Little did they know they were destined or a successul uture in

Meals &Beverages. Their paths crossed while boarding at the same house in San Francisco, and in 1865, ater a light

supper oMash &Bangers, they lited their bourbon glasses and toasted to bringing their dream oMugg &Bean General Merchants to lie.

Contrary to the exploitative business practices o the time, Mugg &Bean ensured their company stood or quality and

excellence, both in customer service and their goods. They wanted to be seen as businessmen o integrity,

who valued their customers, associates and greater the community. They believed innovation was the uture, and thereore

embraced every new opportunity. Personally, they both displayed a generosity o spirit, which grew to legendary

proportions as their business ourished. Soon, Mugg &Bean General Merchants was the place where everyone elt at home,

a place that brought people together: riends & oes, Mates &Brus, women & children, housewives & businessmen;Mothers &Bikers; as well as Unionists & Conederates. It was a place where all were welcome.

So, every time you visitMugg &Bean to soak up the Magic &Buzz, rest assured that we still continue to uphold these

timeless visions and values that Clement Mugg & Joshua Bean established all those years ago.
