Make your own fabric dye cloth
PrepUse the recipe on the below to make a natural binder. Binder to help your fabricaccept the dye better.
•1 cup soy beans•2 cups warm water•Mix in blender till smooth. It should have a milky consistency.•Submerge prewashed cotton into the soy milk. •Mix till cotton is saturated. •Hang to dry.Note: do not us commercial soy milk it contains sugars that prevent it from being a good binder
Manipulate fabric• Twist and fold fabric wrap the folds with twine or rubber bands
Make the dye• Mix dirt into warm water in a large bucket. • Darker dirt's are better. Red clay dirt or compost materials will give you different
shades.
Dye the fabric
• Put the fabric into the dye and leave at least 12 hours. • Remove it from the dye bath untie the fabric rinse mud off and hang to dry.• Heat set mud with warm iron or hot dryer.
