ing a wide area of around 3 kilometers, off the Sarjapura Road in Kasavanahalli,
combines state-of-the-art facilities with a serene ashram and temple atmosphere.
The Bengaluru campus offers B.Tech. programs in five disciplines and M. Tech.
programs in six disciplines.
Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore: Coimbatore campus spread over
400 acres was established on October 27, 1994. It has the distinction of being
Amrita’s first centre for higher learning. Known then as the Amrita Institute of
Technology and Science, it offered B. E. Programmes to cater to the increasing
needs of technical manpower in the country. Today the Coimbatore campus offers
B. Tech and M. Tech Programmes in various disciplines. In addition, it offers Pro-
grammes in Arts & Sciences and Humanities.
Opportunities during M.Tech.
Dual Degree Programme:
Apart from an M.Tech. degree from Amrita, there are opportunities to do a dual degree programme in a foreign university abroad. Students can even avail
scholarship and the fee is paid to the host university.

Working on Research Projects:
There are several research projects taken up by AMRITA. Interested students have the opportunity to work in such projects.
Industrial Internship:
With the support from Corporate and Industrial Relations (CIR) at AMRITA, companies offer industrial internship for one year after the first year of M.Tech.
Most of the students undergoing internship get absorbed by the same company.
Semester Abroad: AMRITA has been collaborating with foreign universities in US and Europe. Students have the opportunity to exercise “Semester abroad” programme, it can
be either the last year or last semester. After this programme, students get the opportunity to continue with the same university either for education or to work in research projects.

Eligibility & Criteria
Applicants shall have the eligibility criteria as mentioned below.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after
B.Sc./Diploma in Engineering/Technology) - Currently in the final year or already completed.
M. Sc./ MCA or equivalent Master’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathemat-ics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent.
Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to B.E./B.Tech./B. Arch.) recog-
nised by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g., AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AM-ICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India).
Applicants should have scored a minimum of 60% in the qualifying degree.
GATE qualified applicants are given direct admission provided they qualify through interview conducted before the last date of application submission. If not
qualified, applicants can choose the paper appropriate to the discipline of their qualifying degree if Amrita Graduate Entrance Test (AGET) exam is available in such a discipline. This is to be eligible for a specialization where the qualifying
examination is not relevant. For example, if the applicant has completed B.Tech /
BE in CSE, attended GATE examination in Electronics & Communicationand is planning to join Robotics & Automation at Amrita, he/she can choose CSE as the examination and opt for Robotics & Automation. In this case, applicant can opt for any specialisation having CSE as the eligibility.
Applicants must be in good health. In case of any discrepancy found in the certif-icate of medical fitness to be submitted at the time of registration, the opinion of
the Institute Medical Officer will be final.
Qualifying degree and Code There are two tables with codes given below to help the applicants to fill up the application. The first table lists down the qualifying first degree or postgraduate
degree and the associated three character codes. The second table list down the M.Tech. specialization offered by Amrita on the left side and the code for the ac-ceptable qualifying degree. The applicable code for the qualifying examination
shall be selected by the applicant, while filling up the online application. This is also important at the time of submitting the preference.
