ICC and SGA are now seeking interested students and campus clubs who would like to begin building a team and a soapbox racer for the Fall 2014 event.

A. Valley Wide Soapbox Derby- MSJC SGA/Club Teams

i. Description: last year, MSJC Clubs participated in the annual Soapbox Derby event in Murrieta, and it

was a huge success. ICC and SGA are now seeking interested students and campus clubs who would

B. Relay for Life

i. Description: This item will discuss the Relay for Life event coming up. Flyers for the event will be

handed out and the event will be briefly reintroduced to the students.

A. Amnesty International Motion Second

i. Student vs. Professor debate with Aaron Hansen and Professor Mason on May 8, 2014 at 5:30

p.m. in room 927

i. There will be a debate between the student Aaron Hansen and Professor Mason- topics and

location need verification

B. Asian & Pacific Islanders Club Motion Second

i. Speed Dating Fundraiser event Sponsored by Savory Sensations on February 8, from 4-6 p.m. in room

416- retroactive

i. The club will be holding a speed dating event with tickets at a price of $4 for one person and $7

for two people.

C. Phi Theta Kappa Motion Second

i. E-Waste fundraiser for the month of February at the MVC

i. An electronic recycling fundraiser for the club- time and date needed

ii. Applebee’s fundraiser for the month of March from, 8-10 am

i. a pancake breakfast fundraiser for the month of March- location and date needed

D. Psychology

i. Event During Club Meeting on February 19, from 5-6 p.m. in room 417

i. The Psychology club will be hosting an event during the club meeting- more event information

needed

E. San Jacinto S.T.E.M. Motion Second

i. Applebee’s Fundraiser April 26, from 8-10 am at the Hemet location

i. A fundraiser for SJC S.T.E.M. at the Hemet Applebee’s where a portion of meal tickets

purchased will be donated to the club.

ii. Rubio’s fundraiser on February 21 at the Hemet location

i. A fundraiser for SJC S.T.E.M. at the Hemet Rubio’s where a portion of items purchased will be

donated to the club when customers present at flyer at the time of purchase - time needed,

check flyer

iii. Rubio’s Fundraiser in April at the Hemet location

i. A fundraiser for SJC S.T.E.M. at the Hemet Rubio’s where a portion of items purchased will be

iv. Panda Express Fundraiser at the San Jacinto location on March 21

i. A fundraiser for SJC S.T.E.M. at the San Jacinto Panda Express where a portion of items

v. Video Game Competition March 8, and May 10, from 11-6 p.m. in room 1301

i. A gaming tournament to raise funds for the clubs and to allow for student interaction food and

drinks will be sold to raise money for the club- time and entry fee?

vi. Reimbursement to Marco Rubio for Supplies for Winter Electronic Workshops- “not to exceed

$250”

i. A reimbursement to Marco Rubio who put on a workshop about “flip flops” (electronic

circuits). The reimbursement is for supplies used to give hands on training to the students.

F. Savory Sensations Motion Second

i. Reimbursement to Natalie Williams for the Christmas Toy Drive- “not to exceed $81.04”

i. Reimbursement for Christmas decorations for donation area, poster board for signs, and

wrapping paper for gifts.

ii. Reimbursement to Connie Duncan for feeding the residents who attend the Valley Restart- “not to

exceed $66.24”

i. Reimbursement to pay for groceries purchased to feed people in need at the Valley Restart.

H. Queer Straight Alliance Motion Second

i. Film Series Featuring Ma Vie en Rose on February 27, at 7 p.m. in room 407

i. This foreign film follows a young child’s journey to become accepted in the gender the child

identifies with most.

ii. Film Series Featuring Trasnamerica on March 27, at 7 p.m. in room 407

i. This film covers the life and journey of a pre gender reassignment surgery patient who has

recently found out she has a son.
