myCreations history

In 1995, Paul Woodward and Simon Tucker began the research and

development of a product specification management system for the private

label supply chain market. Launching ProdSpec version 1 in 1997.

British Bakeries

Long Clawson Dairies

Moy Park Poultry

Youngs Bluecrest (Findus)

Over the next 18 months over 40 food manufacturers across the

UK adopt ProdSpec for managing retailer product specifications.

Recognising the potential of holding the data electronically,

Tesco approach RSC to develop the first ever product development

and compliance lifecycle system, Due Diligence IT (DDIT) is launched

in 1999 along with ProdSpec version 2.

RF Brookes

Irwins Bakery

HL Foods

Dairy Crest

Premier Foods, Kerry Foods, Greencore, Uniq Foods, Manor Bakeries, Hitchin Foods, Express Dairies and over 100 more...

Tesco Stores

After the success of DDIT at Tesco and the continued growth of

private label products in the UK market, ASDA Wal-Mart and The

Big Food Group adopt DDIT. RSC introduce the world’s first

collaborative environment for their supply chains to adopt.

This led to a

redevelopment of ProdSpec

and the introduction of NPD

and formulation

management modules for

the supply chain market. No

longer just a spec

management system,

ProdSpec is re-launched as

Creations NPD.

MICROS Supply Chain (MSC) started out as a bespoke software development house

called RSC for the food manufacturing market. In the 80’s, the business launched an

ERP solution establishing a loyal client base still using this system today. However, as

competition significantly increased the need to offer complimentary products became

vital and so our story begins...

ASDA Wal-Mart

The Big Food Group

Page 5: Msc & my creations overview

MICROS Supply Chain | myCreations Overview 5

As the market recognised the efficiencies being experienced by

DDIT users, in their ability to respond to market needs and

incidents, all private label retailers started to consider their

options. To meet this growing demand RSC redeveloped DDIT

into a complete collaborative product development and

compliance portal, rebranding and launching Creations PLM in

2003.

Safeway

Somerfield

Tesco upgrade to Creations PLM

MICROS Systems acquires the RSC business,

recognising the global potential and worldwide

market needs.

With the growing demand on brand owners to provide greater

consumer information and comply with more diligent

legalisations, whilst innovating with global products and markets,

MICROS identified the need to take Creations to the next level

offering a scalable global platform inclusive of modules developed

specifically to meet every process across the end to end lifecycle of products,

artwork and suppliers. In 2008 a 4 year redevelopment project began re-

branding Creations generation 3 as myCreations and launching the first

modules in 2011.

Tesco International

HE Butt (US)

Brakes Bros

myCreations version 1 was officially launched in 2012 with

the complete set of product and supplier lifecycle and

compliance management modules. Enabled for

internationalisation, Tesco, Metro and Carlson roll-out

across 32 countries complying with local language and

legislative requirements.

myCreations Solution Survey Programme

When making any considerable purchase it is essential you are assured that the purchase is fit for purpose, safe and can

be delivered reliably to you. It is also vital to the vendor that your requirements are understood and your expectations

are accurately set, allowing them to deliver to their promise.

We at MSC provide solutions to enable our clients to protect and develop their brands. Like you, protecting and

developing our brand is important to us and only by delivering on our promises to you will we achieve this. Therefore

we have designed a 3 day Solution Survey Programme (SSP) to enable you to experience all aspects of adopting

myCreations from trialling and testing the features, reviewing the usage, understanding the deployment options,

examining the return on investment justifications and getting to know each other; as the right ethos, commitment,

integrity and approach are vital to a successful and long term partnership.

As this is a joint assessment and survey of the requirements, solution fit and relationship benefiting both businesses we

offer the SSP as a complimentary service in return for your investment in time to the programme.

To ensure the SSP is successful we welcome the opportunity to invite each department in the process to experience

myCreations through specialised 2-3 hour workshops conducted by one of our industry practitioners and product

experts over a 3 day period. In parallel, one of our business consultants will review with you the deployment options,

financial options, IT policies and considerations, resource needs and return on investment potential.

At the end of the SSP we will provide a comprehensive report detailing our findings and recommendations to you on

the ideal myCreations solution. In conjunction with this we will be able to provide an assured proposal accurately

setting out the solution components, prices and services relevant to meeting your specific requirement. This ensures

that all aspects have been considered, reviewed and agreed allowing us to set your expectations reliably. Additionally,

this also enables consistency and focus throughout your on-going evaluation and deployment to the agreed objectives.

The following SSP workshops have been designed to maximise your experience of myCreations and follow a logical flow

across the end to end product development and quality programme. In addition we ask to meet with your key

sponsors, to establish their directives and commitment, and your IS teams to explore any IT considerations and policies.

myCreations price guide

myCreations has been designed to be adopted by all sizes of business across every vertical and layer

within the supply chain of consumer products. The entire suite of applications and services are modular

and can be purchased based upon your level of requirements, internal capability and budget.

To assist you in evaluating myCreations we have created this price guide to help explain the options and

set your expectations for when charges will apply.

As an analogy that we believe everybody is familiar with, the myCreations

price model is very similar to that of the telecommunications market. In

simple terms consider myCreations as the handset with a variety of feature

options that determines the purchase price. Then there is a maintenance

support fee per quarter entitling you to helpdesk support, product updates

and version upgrades. Also, the option of how you pay for your calls, texts

and data, i.e. either through a contracted fixed fee per month, so you know

exactly what your spend is, or pay as you go at a cost per minute, allowing

you to control costs according to your need. Finally, the option of paying the

provider to set-up, configure and transfer your data across or simply taking

the default factory settings and managing this yourself.

A myCreations proposal will also have the same 4

price components as the analogy above. These are:

1. A perpetual licence determined by the

number of modules, features and internal

users specified. This is purchased and paid for

upon delivery of the core solution.

2. An annual managed service fee paid per quarter providing you with user helpdesk support, application

updates, version upgrades and application hosting.

3. The option of either; a fixed annual licence based upon a selected tariff for an expected volume of suppliers

and products paid per quarter over the contracted term. Or, pay as you go, allowing you to be billed each

quarter for the actual volume over that period.

4. Implementation services allowing MSC to manage a programme of activities to configure the solution to your

needs, support internal change management programmes, manage the supply chain on-boarding and if

required modify the application exclusively to you. Or alternatively, following an initial set-up, handover to

your internal teams to perform the above services.

Proposals are provided following an on-site

survey. For more details please contact one

of our sales team on the below telephone

numbers.

myCreations difference

Introduction

In today's market it is growing increasingly difficult to identify true differences between vendors that you can

trust. As a specialised provider in our space, we argue there are very few close competitors although if you

research using terms like Product Lifecycle Management you will find many. Most however are generic and

although on paper indicate all the items expected, they do not have the functional depth, knowledge and

experience of brand and private label product development and quality, specifically in food. We would

therefore like to draw your attention to our differences for your consideration and hope this helps with your

evaluation.

Why Micros Supply Chain

Our values… our leadership began the business in 1995 pioneering the research with several retailers and

food manufacturers before launching our award winning product in 1997. Our ethos has always been to

Learn, Execute, Assist and Deliver on our promises, adopting this LEAD approach across every function

within the business. Although a minor interpretation, it is significant to us that we share a close client

relationship instead of servicing a customer. As you are, we are passionate, proud and protective of our

brand and ensuring we meet your goals enables us to meet ours.

Our clients… we are fortunate that we work with some of the best brand and private label providers across

the world. Our partnerships over the last 15 years have enabled us to deliver high quality and functional

solutions that frankly have been honed to perfection by some of the most demanding companies to reach the

highest quality. Long may this continue.

Why MSC over our competitors?

Our people… we employ food and non-food, quality and product development practitioners to design,

collaborate and advise on the use of our solutions. 50% of our business have sat where you are and

experienced your situation, challenges and concerns and bring understanding and knowledge to ensure we

guide and support you. Our user perspective ensures our continuous improvement and new product

programmes, supported by our highly professional and skilled software analysts, developers and quality

engineers, meet both today's and tomorrow's requirements.

Our focus… we are passionate and dedicated to myCreations and not distracted by offering sourcing, trading

and general IT services to the market. We utilise our specialised experience and knowledge to offer a fully

comprehensive end-to-end solutions for all our clients.

Our depth… unlike other solutions, which offer process management workflows collecting and managing

data sheets, we offer specialised integrated applications for product and supplier development and

compliance that have been designed from the ground up to meet the specific requirements of this market.

Our heritage… we are committed to offering solutions that enable brand protection, compliance and due

diligence efficiently and reliably to clients who are passionate, proud and protective of their brand. Our

collaborative environment ensures right first time, enables quality improvement and inevitably improves both

the speed and success of products to market. We do not offer systems that tick a box to meet a speed to

market demand.

Our leadership… we were 1st to market in our specialised field in 1997; having led the market for over a

decade with our award winning generation 2 solution, we recognised the need for the next generation based

upon the changing global dynamics in consumer goods. In collaboration with our clients and partners we are

pleased to introduce the 3rd

generation of these systems that uniquely combine true collaboration, visibility

and control to every user individually across a global stage.

Page 14: Msc & my creations overview

MICROS Supply Chain | myCreations Overview 14

Our reach… we offer our application through a global solution incorporating tailored e-learning programmes

for every multi-national user plus worldwide helpdesk and online support. Our localised implementation

teams and specialised multi-lingual supplier engagement programmes ensure adoption across your supply

chain no matter where they are. Through global alliance partners and a worldwide infrastructure of service

centres in over 160 countries we can serve you as your global, around the corner partner.

Why MSC over internal development?

Our expertise… the myCreations application has been built to meet the specific requirements of collaborating

with your supply chain on the development, quality and compliance of your products. Our internal industry

practitioners and global alliance partners ensure our solutions continue to meet market initiatives and

legislative requirements. This on-going and rapidly growing demand on you and your IT solution is often

overlooked and not accounted for in cost and resources within your internal IS providers.

Our priority… your solution is our business and our number 1 focus. Regrettably, quality and compliance

solutions are not always regarded as business critical compared to point of sale, inventory or procurement

solutions and therefore often downgraded by internal IS departments in their response levels to the business.

Our development… why reinvent and continually invest in enhancing your internal solution when statistically

over 80% of your requirements will be driven by market initiatives and policies, that are shared by your peers

across the industry. Our product development programmes involve client and alliance collaboration to enable

Micros to continually invest in these enhancements and keep you informed and tooled to meet these

requirements.

Misleading statements

In a competitive environment it is sometimes too easy for vendors to position themselves in a manner that

could be misleading. Common claims are for example, stating the size of their business as parent turnover

instead of the turnover of the product being sold, claiming long lists of clients who may be customers but are

not users of the product you are buying, and promoting a global presence when actually this means they sell

globally.

We hope our claims do not mislead and ask you challenge us to assist you in a true evaluation and start a

relationship based upon trust.

“I have been with the business since the early 90's and I am very proud of the award winning products we have created and

the experience, credibility, integrity and success my team have bought our partners. At Micros Supply Chain we don't install

systems, we deliver solutions and promises ensuring our partners continue to trust and respect our capabilities. With our

unique 50/50 blend of industry specialists and IT professionals we are able to relate to every situation and provide advice and

specially designed software solutions.

Using our core and award winning application suite called Creations, we have developed in partnership with many of the

world’s leading private label retailers and manufacturers some of the most advanced product and supply chain lifecycle

systems managing over $60bn worth of product today. Our commitment is to ensure we help you succeed against your goals

and recognise that everybody and every business is different. Through partnership we can explore, collaborate, create and

generate from our core products a perfectly tailored and proven solution for you. “

myCreations return on execution (ROX)

MSC recognise the challenge faced by the majority of quality compliance departments in justifying spend.

Traditionally seen as a cost centre and often undervalued as part of business growth strategies all expenses have

needed to be argued as tangible return on investment statistics. However, all this is now changing as more and more

regulative requirements expose the liabilities on the brand owner highlighting the need for greater due diligence and

collaborative processes across your supply chain to avoid greater costs, penalties or in extreme situations the down

fall of a brand.

Our Return on Execution (ROX) explores both the tangible benefits possible as well as the fundamental reasons why

a business must deploy processes to protect their brand and deliver safe, reliable and trusted products to the

market.

It is a fact that both revenue growth and potential

cost savings can be achieved through improved

quality procedures and collaborative supply chain

data management.

Accuracy of data drives expectations, predictions

and credibility. A trusted brand can be innovative,

introduced into new markets and survive most

industry incidents. Accuracy of data also drives

efficiency reducing costly rework activity and
