1 MSB Client Installation This document describes the installation of the Mobisys MSBClient on a Windows PC.

1.1 Delivery The Windows PC Client is delivered either on the MSB Installation CD or in an email attachment. You can also use the download link to our FTP server.

This Client has as its prerequisite the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, which you can download here, if it is not installed on your PC: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=de

1.2 Installation The ZIP file contains the subdirectory "MobisysMSBClient. It contains all the files that the Client needs for execution.

The ZIP file must be extracted to a folder of your choice (for example, to C:\Programs\Mobisys\ ).

Hinweis

The MSB Client does not work if it was copied to a network drive. It must be installed locally on the computer!

1.2.1 List of files in the ZIP file

Here is a list of the individual files in the ZIP file:

Directory / File name Remark /Bitmaps/ This subdirectory contains the graphics that are

delivered with the MSB Client. These graphics can be displayed in the application.

If you want to use your own bitmaps, these must first be copied into this subdirectory.

/Config/ This subdirectory contains all the configuration files. Amont others, it contains the XML file MobisysIniDef.org.xml. This file is used as a template configuration file when the MSB Client is first run on a PC.

/Language/ This subdirectory contains all the language files. These are XML documents for the definition of menu texts and screen elements in the corresponding language.

/Sounds/ This subdirectory contains all the Sound files that the MSB Client can use for the WLAN signal output.

If you want to use your own sound filesmaps, these must first be copied into this subdirectory.

that can be downloaded from the SAP system in case of a Client version change.


1.2.2 List of supported languages

The logon onto the SAP system with the MSB Client can be in any language. If the language is maintained in the SAP system and the corresponding Service links (SICF) exists, you can also use languages that are not listed below.

The display texts of the standard menus and configuraiton screens, however, must be supported by the MSB Client.

The following languages are supported by the MSB Client:

1.2.3 LAN settings for an existing proxy server

The MSB Client uses HTTP classes from Microsoft. If your network has a proxy server, the proxy settings on the PC must be adjusted accordingly.

Error message: Timeout reached (Connect Error!)

If you get this error message, although the HTTP service in the SAP system is activated (SMICM), and the IP address and the port are correctly set, then the proxy settings should be checked.

The connection will only work if the desired SAP destination IP has been entered as an exception for the proxy settings.

2 Program start The MSB Client is started by calling the file MobisysClient100.exe (for example C:\Programs\Mobisys\MobisysClient100.exe).

For an easy start, you can create a link to the file MobisysClient100.exe on your desktop.

If you want to use the MSB Client for several applications or SAP systems, you can use the following start parameters in the link:

MobisysClient100.exe /Appl Y00 /IP 192.168.1.26 /Port 8000 /Service /MOBISYS/MSB_MSBUSER

The Login menu

Via the selection of the menu option 01 Logon in the Logon menu, the user access the logon screen.

The requirement for a successful Login is a correct configuration of the end device.

Furthermore the user has to be set up in the MSB user management.

2.1 Start parameters The PC Client can be accessed with various start parameters when starting. These parameters, which are normally determined from the configuration file, can be set specifically.

Here is an example of a batch file through which MSB Client is accessed with start parameters: MobisysClient100.exe /Appl Y00 /IP 192.168.1.26 /Port 8000 /Service /MOBISYS/MSB_MSBUSER

2.2 User-specific directory

The files, which contain user-specific application data, are stored in the following user-specific directory:

For Windows XP: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\%USERNAME%\Anwendungsdaten\Mobisys MSB Client\

For Windows Vista: C:\Benutzer\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Mobisys MSB Client\

In case of doubt, the path for the user-specific application data can be displayed under XP, Vista and 7, by entering "echo %appdata%" in the command line.

The log file (error.txt) and error pages are stored in this directory. The error pages are HTML documents which can be found in the subdirectory Error Pages.
