IntroductionThis guide is for those using Microsoft Teams to access and complete class work from home. Microsoft Teams allows teachers to share assignments with pupils and is a fantastic forum for class discussions. Pupils can share their work with their class teacher and can also upload photos of jotter work for their teacher to view. This document will be updated with additional information in the future.

How to login to Microsoft TeamsLog in to MS Teams through your Glow account.

The Glow homepage is https://sts.platform.rmunify.com/Account/SignIn/glow

Type in your Glow username and Password into the boxes below and choose Sign in.

Choose the Microsoft Teams app from your Launchpad tiles. If you do NOT have the Teams tile then click on “App Library” and search for the app using the search function.

Once you have loaded Teams you should then select your class.

How to download the Teams app for WindowsOnce you are logged in to Teams, you will have an access menu on the left-hand side of the screen. At the bottom of the menu is the download button for installing Teams on to your computer. This means you no longer need to use your Internet browser to access your Team.

If you are installing MS Teams app on your computer you will be asked to enter your username (followed by @glow.sch.uk) as in the screenshot below.

After you have logged in to Teams, you will be prompted to enter your full username AND password at the Glow page. This is the final stage in the process and the Teams app will then launch on your PC

How to find assignments in TeamsClass teachers will upload Assignments to be completed for literacy and numeracy. When an assignment is posted you will find it in your General feed. You can access it by choosing the View Assignment button. You can also find any assignments by clicking on the Assignments tab at the top of the page.

How to load your assignmentsWhen you open your assignment, you will see instructions from your class teacher and some files you can use to help you.

Locate the file that you need and click on the 3 dots next to the filename. This will give you several options for opening the file.

Open in Teams – The file will open within your Teams app/browser.Open in Word/Word Online – MS Word will launch on your desktop or in Word Online.Download – The file will download to your computer and you can then open it. The download option often works best when the server is busy and the other options are not working.

I downloaded an assignment – how do I hand in my work?

If you have downloaded a file and completed your work – you need to upload it for your teacher to see.

First, go to your Assignments tab at the top of the page.

Choose the assignment for which you wish to hand in your work

Choose Add Work

Locate the saved file on your computer by selecting Upload from this device. This will open a pop-up box where you can find your file.

When your file is uploaded you can select the Hand In button to send your work to your teacher.

NOTE THAT DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF TRAFFIC ON GLOW AND TEAMS AT THE MOMENT THAT SOME FILES MAY NOT LOAD DURING PEAK TIMES.

How do I upload a photo of my work using a mobile device?

If you have downloaded the Teams app on a mobile device, you can take a picture of your jotter work and upload it directly to teams.

Firstly, take a picture of your work to upload.

Locate your assignment on your Teams channel (select Assignments in the menu or find it in the General chat).

Select Add Work.

Choose ‘Upload from this device’

Locate your photograph from your Images files.

If you are successful you will see your work attached at the bottom of the resources.

Once your work has been attached you can select the Hand In option to send it to your teacher.
