News:    Thank  you  so  much  for  a  great  year!    I  have  really  enjoyed  this  class!  I’ve  

never  met  a  group  that  is  so  accepting  and  caring  of  one  anther!    They  will  truly  be  missed  and  I  hope  they  have  an  amazing  third  grade  year!  

Look  for  report  cards  in  your  child’s  backpack  on  Monday  along  with  their  last  school  supplies.      

 

Student  Edition:  This  section  is  to  highlight  student  writing  and  to  teach  families  about  the  classroom  from  the  perspective  of  second  graders    Classroom  Plays  by  Mason  Carroll  and  Mary  Markese    

We  had  a  play  on  May  22.    The  plays  are  Spiderella,  Betsy  Ross  Seamstress  with  a  Mission,  Planet  Parade,  and  Summer  Dreams.    In  Planet  Parade  we  sing  You  Are  My  Sunshine.    Spiderella  is  exactly  like  Cinderella  but  with  bugs.    We’re  making  the  scenery  to  act  out.      Pen  Pals  by  Ethan  Stewart    

We  write  to  our  pen  pals  every  month.    Pen  pals  are  other  2nd  graders  we  write  to.    We  wrote  1  or  2  paragraphs  to  them.    Some  of  our  penpals  names  are  Elliott,  Cate,  Sara,  Claire,  Maddy,  Helen,  and  Grace  those  are  only  SOME  of  our  pen  pals.    That’s  about  pen  pals!

Discovery  Day  by  Artie  Welsh  and  Aiden  Kile    

We  will  tell  you  about  Discovery  Day.    We  thank  Discover  Day  will  be  your  favorite  thing  to  do.    You  can  do  lots  of  fun  things  at  Discovery  Day.    You  have  to  be  a  certain  age  and  up.    You  get  to  go  to  only  three  places  in  the  building.    The  three  places  are  fun.    they  choose  3  for  you.    you  choose  6  fun  things.    that’s  what  Discovery  Day  is  about.  

     

Reminders/Notes: ! End of Year assembly 9:30am ! Second grade picnic at Hoffman Park 10:30 – 2pm – parents

welcome to stop by, we’ll be at the park from 11-1:30pm – remember to put on bug spray and sunscreen before school, and a disposable lunch is preferable
