ThanksgivingThanksgivingThanks be to God!
He gives us victory
through Our
Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57
TWENTY-SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME 40 - 4
Thanksgiving Day is that special day for all of us to turn our hearts in gratitude to God and to one another. We Catholics do so as a daily way of life, even making it a sacrament of life. The celebration of the Eucharist is our faith filled way of giving thanks to God. The word Eucharist means thanksgiving. Giving thanks is fundamental to our faith. We give God thanks for life, family, faith, freedom, actually for everything. All that we have is ultimately from God. Most importantly is Jesus, the gift given for all people. I am grateful to God for all of you. I pray that you have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving.
Fr. Jinto CSC
GOD, THANK YOU...
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Altar Server Ministry
We have an opportunity for girls and boys who have made their First Communion and wish to serve God and our community by serving at Mass. This is a wonderful learning experience for our young members of the parish. They learn about their faith and take on responsibility. There is an orientation and guidance from experienced servers on the Altar.
Please contact Fr. Jinto if you are interested in joining the Altar Server Ministry.

Our 2017 campaign theme of “Living the
Gospel by providing for those in need” reflected our role as Catholics to bring the hands of Christ to our brothers and sisters.
The faithful of the Archdiocese of Toronto heeded that call generously with a record ShareLife parish campaign. Together we raised $12,690,597 – an increase of over $620,000 or 5.2% from the 2016 result. We are immensely grateful for the commitment of parishioners to the work of ShareLife agencies. The total that our parish contributed to ShareLife was $16,167.00. Thank you for your generous donations!
For next weekend – October 14 & 15

CHILDREN’S PROGRAM UPDATE
First, we want to thank the youth of the parish who have volunteered to serve as student helpers in our Children’s Liturgy Program. Six new volunteers have stepped forward to replace the six who graduated in June. Thank you very much! NEW VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED: We continue to need at least one or two new volunteers to join us as teachers in the younger group, for children aged 3 to 6. Our rotation of teachers for this group is down to 4 (and sometimes 3), and this is not enough to sustain the program comfortably. Parent or other adults interested in volunteering for these positions are encouraged to speak with Tom Broadhurst or one of the other teachers.
