December 16, 2020 Happy Wednesday KCS Families, By now, you should have received an email from Superintendent Deegan informing you that he has called a snow day for tomorrow, Thursday, December 17 th , for the entire Archdiocese of New York. To the best of my recollection, in almost 30 years with the Archdiocese, this is an unprecedented action, occurring during these unprecedented times. The faculty, staff, and I are grateful to our Superintendent, not just because we have a day off from work, but because he recognizes that during this time of turbulence and uncertainty, a snow day, especially the first snow day, is a welcome hallmark of childhood that brings joy to children’s hearts. For a moment tomorrow, we can all let go of anxiety, fear, and stress and play in the snow! In keeping with that spirit, the snow day tomorrow will be, as Mr. Deegan stated, a true snow day- no books, no computers, no Zearning, no Zooming, and no Seesaw-ing! Please enjoy a day without stress and do something that brings you joy- perhaps snuggle up with your children, make cocoa, read a good book, watch a Christmas movie, or wrap gifts. Build a snowman, write Christmas cards, walk in the snow covered woods…exhale and enjoy. Again, I wish to thank you, and the amazing KCS staff, for your sincere effort and dedication to keeping our school community safe and healthy. Our partnership with our parents and families has helped us come this far. As I said to you last spring, together- we’ve got this! Wishing you a white and wonderful first snow day of the season. Blessings, Mrs. Albert

    Happy Wednesday KCS Families,

By now, you should have received an email from Superintendent Deegan informing you that he has

called a snow day for tomorrow, Thursday, December 17th, for the entire Archdiocese of New York. To

the best of my recollection, in almost 30 years with the Archdiocese, this is an unprecedented action,

occurring during these unprecedented times. The faculty, staff, and I are grateful to our

Superintendent, not just because we have a day off from work, but because he recognizes that during

this time of turbulence and uncertainty, a snow day, especially the first snow day, is a welcome

hallmark of childhood that brings joy to children’s hearts. For a moment tomorrow, we can all let go

of anxiety, fear, and stress and play in the snow!

In keeping with that spirit, the snow day tomorrow will be, as Mr. Deegan stated, a true snow day- no

books, no computers, no Zearning, no Zooming, and no Seesaw-ing! Please enjoy a day without stress

and do something that brings you joy- perhaps snuggle up with your children, make cocoa, read a

good book, watch a Christmas movie, or wrap gifts. Build a snowman, write Christmas cards, walk in

the snow covered woods…exhale and enjoy.

Again, I wish to thank you, and the amazing KCS staff, for your sincere effort and dedication to

keeping our school community safe and healthy. Our partnership with our parents and families has

helped us come this far. As I said to you last spring, together- we’ve got this!

Wishing you a white and wonderful first snow day of the season.

    Blessings,

    Mrs. Albert

  • The KCSFO would like to thank everyone for participating in our recent events. The virtual

Beth Eisgruber, for putting this together for us! The Christmas Scavenger hunt brought us

by many of the decorated homes of Kingston and was enjoyed by many. This would not have

been possible without the participation of our community, and we ae so grateful. Thank you,

Shannon Kelly, for arranging this tour! Thank you, Mrs. Tarcza, for leading us in song for

    our Virtual Christmas Caroling night.

Don’t forget to enter our Virtual Gingerbread house decorating contest! Please send a picture

of your decorated gingerbread house to: [email protected] by midnight on 12/20.

Pictures will be posted on our Facebook page and voting will be open until midnight on 12/21.
