TRADITIONAL WINDOW CLEANING

Traditional window cleaning methods employ quality detergents and

squeegees to bring your windows to a sparkling finish.

WATER FED POLE

The poles are fed with 100% pure water to make sure that no drip

marks or streaks are left on the glass. With all jobs carried out using

the water-fed reach and wash system, the window sills and frames

are also washed. In line with our environmental commitments, and to

reduce costs to clients, we use top-of-the-range equipment to filter

and purify the water used. This makes cleaning more efficient and

reduces vast amounts of waste. Most windows in 2-6 storey buildings

are cleaned using the reach-and-wash water-fed pole system.

ABSEILING AND FALL ARREST (HARNESS WORK)

a short time. Dirt can become ingrained deep within the surface of the

flooring and mopping alone will not remove the problem. In order to

clean and maintain hard flooring to the highest standard, Mr Gleam Ltd

uses a proven method, making use of specialist equipment. We lightly

strip the top of the floor and deep clean before sealing it and adding

a minimum of three coats of polish. The floor will then be buffed to a

high gloss polished finish.

appliancesIn order to get many commercial kitchen appliances clean they must be fully dismantled, then treated in

special cleaning solutions to remove grease and carbon build-up. Once the internal and removable parts

are soaking in the solution we can set to work on the structure of

the appliance using degreasers and steam to remove any burned-

on grease and carbon. Once this process has been completed the

appliance can be re-assembled and polished before being put back

to use in the kitchen.

Extraction and ducting cleaning

At all food service premises, duct work must be cleaned on a regular

basis to ensure that the premises comply with the terms of their

insurance. With the average kitchen fire causing £133,000 of damage it

is imperative for both insurer and owner to ensure that comprehensive

and careful cleaning takes place on a regular basis.

Accumulation of grease within kitchen extract systems creates a hidden

combustion risk. High temperatures and flames can ignite this grease

causing fire to spread rapidly throughout the ducting system which

in turn will spread to the rest of the kitchen as the ductwork distorts

under the intense heat. Poorly designed and installed or damaged

ductwork can also leak grease, exacerbating the fire risk. Vermin, poor

general hygiene and odour can also result from poor maintenance of

kitchen extraction systems.

The Heating and Ventilating Contractors Association (HVCA) Guide to Good Practice recommends yearly

cleaning for extraction systems under light use, rising to 3-monthly cleaning in a busy kitchen.
