Lessons learnt...

Systems approach is important Before developing any model understanding about

existing system and issues is necessary Livestock keeper can pay for the services if they are

explained with proper economic analysis for the services

Regular follow up is must Awareness camp plays crucial role Training at field level is important Involvement of local Government Department is crucial From the beginning payment system should be

promoted Nothing is free It is important to work on how to increase return from

livestockMPRLP 18

Page 19: MPRLP -Gopal

Lessons learnt... Approach used

Gopal model is effective if the person is from the same area It should well linked with various support systems Introduce the Gopal at various levels

Institutional/organisational aspects Strong back up support Regular follow up at field level Liaison with Government Department at local level

Animal production/marketing Market analysis has to be done for various livestock and

birds Training and exposure on marketing bring difference Control over losses due to poor management and health

practices should be addressed Stakeholder involvement /cooperation

Livestock keeper should know every thing in detail Provide space for government Doctors
