1. Minor written paper shall be of One hour duration and practical paper shall be of 15minutes.
2. Major written paper shall be of three hours duration and Practical paper shall be of 30minutes duration.
3. After every Minor-II in all papers there will be a Quiz of 10 marks.4. Student can opt any instrument of his/her own choice, capable of playing classical Music.
* Submission of One Research Paper is compulsory before the final submission ofDissertation.

Note :1. Tuning of Instruments Sitar/Tabla is mandatory in all units.2. Basic Talas in Hands/Tabla will be the part of every Unit.3. Stage performance will be conducted in the presence of invited audience including
all students and teachers.
Time : 20 Min. UNIT-I
1. There will be one sitting of 20 minutes duration in which the candidate will perform onevilambit khayal and Drut khayal or one Maseetkhani Gat, Razakhani Gat in any Raga ofhis/her choice from the prescribed course
2. A shabad with proper Gurmat Sangeet Gayaki for Instrumental students.3. A Bandish with gayaki style on any Instrument for Vocal Students.
Time : 20 Min. UNIT-II
1. There will be one sitting of 20 minutes duration in which the candidate will perform onevilambit khayal and Drut khayal or one Maseetkhani Gat, Razakhani Gat in any Raga ofhis/her choice from the prescribed course.
2. One Khayal/Gat in Madhya laya in tala other than Teen Tal. It should be in a raga otherthan the choice raga from the prescribed course.
Time : 20 Min. UNIT-III
1. There will be one sitting of 20 minutes duration in which the candidate will perform onevilambit khayal and Drut khayal or one Maseetkhani Gat, Razakhani Gat in any Raga ofhis/her choice from the prescribed course
2. One Thumari.

Important Note:
1. One Power Point Presentation to be presented related with the Topic chosenby the candidate.
2. One research paper to be published / accepted and certified copy to besubmitted to the department at the time of Pre-Submission of the Summaryof Dissertation.
3. Attendance Record of IInd Semester will be checked and viewed while byanalyzing the Seminar Performance of the Researcher.

MUD–801: DISSERTATION
The dissertation shall have to be submitted by the candidate within six months of the
declaration of the result. The Dean AA & SW may grant extension upto six months on the
recommendation of the chairman M.Phil. Committee in consultation with the supervisor.
The Vice-Chancellor on recommendation of the chairman of the M.Phil. Committee & the
supervisor may grant further extension upto one year with some special reasons to be recorded
with late fee as prescribed by the University from time to time. No further extension in
submission of dissertation shall be granted and the result of the candidate shall be declared as
cancelled.
Dissertation comprising of 75 to 100 pages has to be submitted on any area of
specialization in music.
