OUR CHURCHIt All Began in a CafeteriaThe story of Community Church goes back to the early 1980’s, when an inspiredgroup of Christians began meeting in a high school cafeteria. Today, we welcome nearly 1300adults and kids each week to our Sunday services and offer a wide array ofministries for people in every phase of life.

SMALL GROUPS

Community Church doeseverything in small groups.Small groups provide theenvironment to celebrate thesuccess and good times of lifeand comfort one another in thetough and disappointing times. It is a place to be encouraged, equipped and challenged togrow in our relationship withJesus Christ.

We believe that small groups are the key to feeling connected atCommunity Church. Community Church is a great place to meetnew people and grow in faith. Small groups consist of six to twelvepeople who meet weekly in someone’s home for fellowship, Biblestudy and prayer. They are for adults of all ages, stages of life, spiritual maturity and backgrounds. At any given time, we haveapproximately 50 or more small groups that meet in homesthroughout the central Michigan area as well as many others thatmeet in the church building.

Grouplink: The Easiest Way to Join a Small Group

GREAT CURRICULUMSmall groups study a variety of books throughout the year. Twicea year small groups study the same curriculum. Often this is aDVD curriculum created by Community Church pastors andleaders featuring on-location teaching in many interesting places.

Shoreline StoriesCommunity Church’s Newest Small Group Curriculum

Jesus spent a lot of time on the beach. In fact, some of the mostimportant moments of Jesus’ ministry happened near theshoreline. This Fall, Community Church releases its newestDVD- based small group study on location in sunny Fort MyersBeach, Florida.

Join Pastor Brian and a small group of Community Churchleaders as they unpack the shoreline stories of Jesus along thecoast of the Gulf of Mexico. Visit an authentic shrimping boat, meet the shrimping boat captain, and discover why fishing was soimportant to Jesus’ ministry. Cruise along the open waters of thegulf and explore the role the sea played with the early disciples.Stroll through the busy and colorful downtown district of FortMyers and learn how Jesus placed himself at the crossroads of theworld.

In this study you will get a chance to meet four CommunityChurch elders who traveled with Pastor Brian. You will meet ahistorian, a businessman, a professor, and an accountant as youhear their perspective on the stories of Jesus. You will also listenin as they share heart-felt stories of life change through Christ. Then in your small group you will get a chance to dive into thestories of Jesus and experience the ways that God has been atwork in each other.

Shoreline Stories kicks off early October. Watch for more detailsabout how you can join a small group this September andexperience this unique study.
