STEP 1: Visit the SAMED website

Visit the South African Medical Technology Industry Association (SAMED) website at

www.samed.org.za.

Please note: The Medical Device Code of Ethical Marketing & Business Practice Online Certification

Test can also be directly accessed via the Medical Practice Consulting (MPC) platform

(www.mpconsulting.co.za) as explained in Step 6.

STEP 2: Navigating to the Online Certification Test

Click on the Online Certification Test Banner on the SAMED Homepage to access the Medical

Device Code of Ethical Marketing & Business Practice Online Certification Test on the MPC platform.

You will be directed to the Medical Device Code of Ethical Marketing & Business Practice Online

Certification Test product page on the MPC platform.

STEP 3: Register your free MPC Account

In order to access the Medical Device Code of Ethical Marketing & Business Practice Online

Certification Test, you need to register your free account on MPC.

If you already have an MPC account, proceed to Step 5.

Click on the Register button at the bottom of the Online Certification Test product page.

You will be directed to the MPC Registration Page.

Complete the requested information on the MPC Registration Page.

Important fields to complete within the Personal Information section:

Field 1: I am a - Select the Other option

Complete the remaining information as requested.

Important fields to complete within the Professional Information section:

Field 2: Profession - Please select the correct option.

Field 3: My primary industry - Please select the correct option.

Field 4: Company/Employer - Please ensure that you have correctly spelled the name of your

company or employer.

Field 5: My ID number is - Enter your South Africa Identification number.

Complete the remaining information and agree to the Terms and Conditions, and click on the

Register profile button to register your account on MPC.

STEP 4: Setting your password

After account registration, you will receive an email (to the email address supplied during registration

process in Step 3) with a link to set your password.

Please follow the unique link in your email and provide a password that you would like to use to

access the MPC system.

STEP 5: Login to the MPC Platform

After you have set your password, account registration will be complete. Your web browser will

redirect you back to the MPC login page.

Please enter your email address as username and password in order to login.

STEP 6: Access the Online Certification Test

Once you have logged into the MPC platform, you will automatically be directed to the Online

Education page. If not, click on the Online Education tab to access the Online Education page.

The MPC Education Page contains all the courses available on the platform.

Select SAMED from the drop-down list of service providers.

tile will be displayed.

Click on the Access button on the course tile to access the Medical Device Code Online Certification

Test.

STEP 7: Enter your Voucher Code

Upon accessing the Medical Device Code Online Certification Test for the first time, you will be

directed to the Welcome page where you need to click on the Continue button to proceed.

* Once-off requirement

When accessing the course for the first time, you need to enter your Voucher Code - provided by

your organisation’s compliance officer - during the payment phase of the certificate in order to

qualify for the free scholarship.

Enter your Voucher Code into the designated text box and click on the Verify button.

Once you have entered your Voucher Code, your certificate fee will be waived.

Click on the Proceed button to continue.

STEP 8: Complete the Scholarship Information

When accessing the Medical Device Code Online Certification Test for the first time, you will be

required to complete your basic information as this certificate is available on scholarship and at no

cost to you as individual.

* Once-off requirement

Complete the requested information and click on the Submit button.

STEP 9: Agree to the Terms and Conditions

When accessing the course for the first time, you will be required to accept the Terms and Conditions

of the Medical Device Code of Ethical Marketing & Business Practice Online Certification Test.

* Once-off requirement

Click on Agree button if you accept the Terms and Conditions.

Once you have agreed to the Terms and Conditions, you will be directed to the Medical Device Code

of Ethical Marketing & Business Practice Online Certification Test introduction page.

* Please Note: Steps 7, 8 and 9 are once-off requirements which you will not be requested to

complete upon accessing the course for a second time and onwards.

STEP 10: Navigate through the content

To access the certificate content, click on the Content tab on the sidebar.

Navigate through the certification content by using the Navigation bar.

STEP 11: Complete the assessment

Once you have read all the content, click on the Questionnaire tab on the side bar to access the

certificate multiple-choice questionnaire.

Click on the Start Questionnaire button to complete the certificate questions.

You will have 45 minutes to successfully complete all the questions to receive you certificate.

Please Note: Once you have successfully completed the certificate questionnaire, you can access,

view and print your certificate from your CPD Manager on the MPC platform.
