    THE FESTIVAL

    Still touring around the world to Hungary, Brazil, Spain, Australia,... with the best of moves09, moves Festival returns to the North Wes t of England from the 21 to 25 of April 2010 a t the renow ned cultural centre The Bluecoat, in Liverpool.

    moves is back with a new and exciting programme including a P RIZE to tour Europe (see below), old favourites, new strands and as always the best selection of short films exploringmovement on screen For news and updates, log on to our website.

    moves is the la rgest exhibition platform in the UK for experimental short film and newmedia with a unique focus on movement on screen, exploring new ways of t elling stories

    through films, screen-based installations and discussion.moves08 questioned the relations between movement and sound on screen, moves09looked at stories beyond movement. moves10 will explore the notion of framingmovement through screenings, installations, live events, forums

    OPEN CALL

    moves is now inviting artists to submit their work for the 2010 festival; deadline isSunday 13 th December 2009.

    Under the theme Framing Motion, m o v e s welcome short films, screen-based installations and papers completed after December 2008. The submission form andguidelines to apply are available at www.movementonscreen.org.uk

    ALTERNATIVE ROUTES AWARD

    This year you can win a tour across Europe to present your work with the AlternativeRoutes Award!

    Alterna(ve Routes is a European network to encourage the tran sna(onal circula(on of ar(s(c andcultural works, developing a new route for experimental screenbased work.Coorganisers are moves Interna(onal Fes(val of Movement on Screen, 700IS Experimental Film andVideo Fes(val Iceland), Frame Performance and New Technologies fes(va l Portugal) andIntermode m Interna(onal Intermedia Fes(val and Workshop. Hungary).

    AR PRIZE : Win a tour that will take you and your work as far as Iceland, Hungary and Portugal! The prizeis a great opportunity to present your work accross Europe, meet with other ar(sts, visit and know otherorganisa(ons, and promote your work to other industry people.
