Fall is in the air, and miniature mischief is afoot...

One rainy afternoon, the Nutmeg mouselings were rummaging through the attic in search of Halloween costumes. At the bottom of one of Great-Grandmother Nutmeg’s old steamer trunks, they found a dusty, old cookbook with brittle pages.

Papa Nutmeg, ever the culinary adventurer, decided to give the recipes a whirl, but that evening, as smoke filled the kitchen andhollow, whispered voices drifted up from the root cellar, theyrealized that this was no ordinary cookbook. What the mouselingshad unearthed was none other than Granny Nutmeg’s spellbook!Papa thought newt’s eye and frog’s warts was a bit odd for chocolate chip cookies...

Mira Nutmeg is convinced that a balanced mouse diet consistsof dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and, of course, white chocolate,and to prove her point, she decided to bake her family and guestsa special treat for their annual Halloween party: a devil’s food

cake decorated with a precarious spiral brownie staircase, mocha-dusted, white chocolate-covered almond stones, fudge cookie grave

markers, and a spooky dark chocolate haunted house with a gnarled tree. Each white chocolate shingle was carefully

placed by hand...er, paw.
