Via Ferrata along the Wilder Kaiser

A via ferrata is a climbing route on natural rock secured

by steel cables, iron ladders, iron pegs and rungs. Led and

assisted by certified mountain guides from the alpine Club Vertikal, we can guarantee you’ll

have a day full of adventure in the Wilder Kaiser mountains. Today we’ll meet at 8:30am at

the Wochenbrunner Alm, where we’ll begin our hike up to the training via ferrata near the

Gaudeamus Hütte. Our experienced guides will get you on the right track and put you

through your paces as far as climbing the via ferrata goes (conduct, proper footing, safety,

proficiency testing). Our goal today will be the fairly new via ferrata „Klamml“, which is split

in 2 sections. The first part offers a difficulty C, and after that there is a point where the path can

be left. Whoever is brave enough, can keep on going over a spectacular two-rope bridge to connect

to the second part, which is difficulty D.

To bring: Hiking shoes, via ferrate – or bike gloves, small backpack, drinks, small snack, rain-

or sun protection.

Equipment: Via Ferrata equipment can be rented for free

Meeting point: 8:30am at the Wochenbrunner Alm

Duration: until approx 3pm
