BELLA CONCERT HALL

The Bella Concert Hall at the heart of the new

Mount Royal Conservatory, is named for Taylor family

matriarch Mary Belle Taylor, known simply as Bella to all

who knew and loved her. Opening in 2015, the Bella will

provide a unique mid-size venue in the city of Calgary —

perfect for performances requiring an intimate setting

and superb acoustics.

The interior design pays homage to Alberta’s rural

heritage with structural elements reminiscent of

the weathered barns that dot the province’s prairie

landscape.

LEACOCK CONCERT HALL

This recently renovated concert hall has a fixed acoustic

ceiling to enhance sound quality. Six acoustic shells and

the reflective surfaces are ideal for concerts providing an

excellent auditory experience. Total stage dimensions can

be modified with the shell to create intimacy for smaller

acts, such as acoustic guitar performances. LED lighting

allows for endless colour possibilities with the touch of a

finger.

WRIGHT THEATRE

The Wright Theatre, equipped with a proscenium arch

and fly tower, is an ideal venue for dance performance

and theatre. The extensive counterweight rigging system

with 28 hand lines and 6 automated lines, makes flying

sets and props easy for the ultimate dramatic experience.

The Wright has a versatile lighting plot, and catwalk

access for multiple hanging positions.

The Nickle Theatre is a black box venue with additional

seating on the second level. It is an intimate space ideal

for drama, stand-up comedy, jazz concerts and speaking
