Kevin is a founding member of the Standards Australia/Standards New Zealand Joint Technical Committee that produced the original AS/NZS 4360 Risk Management Standard in 1995 and its subsequent revisions in 1999 and 2004.

Kevin was Convenor of the International Standards Organisation (ISO) Working Group that produced ISO/IEC Guide 73:2002 and he chaired the ISO Working Group that produced the ISO 31000 Risk Management Standard and the revised ISO Guide 73 published in November 2009.

He is currently Chairman of the ISO Technical Committee 262 - Risk Management.

He was the 2001 Asian Risk Manager of the Year.

He was appointed a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia in 2008 “for service to risk management through executive roles with professional associations and as a contributor to the development of principles and practices”.

Kevin was included in the US Treasury & Risk’s Magazine 2008 list of the 100 most influential people leaving their marks on the world of finance for his International Standards work.

Warwick Blyth is an experienced strategy consultant and co-leads Strategic Decisions Group’s EMEA Energy Practice. He first joined SDG in 1994 and has extensive international experience developing business strategies and facilitating decision processes in a wide variety of industries with a distinct focus on energy and the oil and gas sector.

Angel Escorial is CEO of Riskia since its constitution in 2002. He is Master in Civil Engineering and BSc in Physics. Angel also is Specialist in Foreign Trade, CFPA in fire protection, CT31000 and Alarys RM certicate.

His career began in nuclear power plants engineering in the U.S. and Spain. Angel joined the ‘world of risks and insurance’ in an industrial insurance broker for 6 years and developing consultancy services in GrupoBeer for 9 years till 11S.

Since then, Angel monitors the projects in Risk Management, Safety, Security and Environment that Riskia develops for Organizations of every type. He counts on significant experience in the direction of multidisciplinary consultancy projects as well as in outstanding works of decontamination after fire, flood or chemical spill. During his over 30 years professional career, he has managed hundreds of projects in these fields.

After 31 years in the Oil & Gas sector working for Shell and a number of independent oil companies, Mick has recently formed Risk-Aware Asset Management Ltd, a consultancy with a strong focus on Risk Management. He was Group Audit and Risk Manager for Premier Oil plc (2010-13) during which time he implemented an ERM framework in line with ISO31000, was responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the system and training personnel throughout the company. In this board facing role he was also responsible for Corporate Governance, RM reporting at all levels &a member of the audit & risk committee. He has a proven track record of oil & gas field development, asset and country management in UK, Europe, FSU and Asia.

Emmanuel Johannes is Managing Partner of KEPLER a firm dealing with Internal Audit, Risk Management, Governance, Assurance and Business Advisory.

Prior to start at KEPLER, he had worked with MEKONSULT, PwC, KCB Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

He spent four years at KCB Bank Tanzania PLC as Chief Audit Executive. He was responsible for set up and successfully leading and transforming Internal Audit function at the time when KCB recorded significant growth in its operations. Prior to joining KCB Bank he has worked as Risk and Compliance Manager for Standard Chartered Bank. He also worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Assurance department. He served as the President of the Institute of Internal Auditors Tanzania from July 2011 to June 2015.

He has presented a number of papers in Auditing, Risk Management, Information Technology Audit and he is a Fellow of Chartered Accountant (UK and Scotland), and he hold a number of professional qualifications from the Institute of Internal Auditors, ISACA and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

He is a holder of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication from UDSM, BSc Hons in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and MBA in Financial Services from University of East London.

Carmen is a Partner in PwC’s Risk Assurance practice, based in Johannesburg. A qualified chartered accountant CA (SA), she has 19 years’ experience in auditing and consulting in the accounting profession.

Carmen is the Business Resilience leader for Africa responsible for driving PwC’s approach to solutions that cross the intersection of business strategy, risk management, business operations, compliance, internal control and technology.

With a strong background on advising clients on risks and controls, Carmen also delivers corporate governance, risk management, compliance and GRC technology services to clients across a number of industries in Africa.

Before taking on this operational leader role, Carmen served two terms as a member of the PwC southern African firm’s Governing Board and also served on the Board’s Clients and Markets Sub-Committee.

Carmen’s core competencies include external audit, internal audit, corporate governance, risk consulting, Sarbanes-Oxley, compliance and sustainability reporting.

Ann Meeker-O’Connell is the Head, Risk Management and External Engagement for Johnson & Johnson’s Bioresearch Quality and Compliance organization. In this role, Ann is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of BRQC’s global outreach and advocacy and risk management activities for R&D across sectors. Prior to J&J, Ann served as Director of CDER’s Division of Good Clinical Practice Compliance at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). During her tenure at FDA, Ann also served as Associate Director, Risk Science, Intelligence, and Prioritization and as a Senior Policy Advisor within the Office of Scientific Investigations. She received her M.S. in Pharmacology and B.A. in Biology from Duke University in Durham, NC. Ann is a Certified ISO 31000 Lead Risk Trainer and a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional.

Johan Opperman is an independent Risk and Management Consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in various senior roles. He holds amongst others a Master of Business Leadership Degree and is an Approved ISO 31000 Lead Trainer. He coordinated technological security matters in the state environment, presented to the provincial cabinets and administrations, chaired the global Billiton Information Security Forum and was part of the leadership when the Absa Group obtained the first Basel II Operational Risk Advanced Measurement Approach status in Africa. He is experienced in mergers and acquisition risk matters, was responsible for new product approval and product review processes and is currently consulting to companies to design and implementation an enterprise risk management framework that support achieving objectives. Alex Sidorenko is a uniquely qualified expert with over 12 years of strategic, innovation, risk and performance management experience across Australia, Russia, Poland and Kazakhstan. In 2014 Alex was named the Risk Manager of the Year by the Russian Risk Management Association.

Currently working at RUSNANO, Alex leads the risk management team at the largest private equity fund in Russia, specializing in hi-tech and nanotechnology investments. Alex is responsible for ERM at the fund level and across its 95 portfolio companies. Alex’s work at RUSNANO was awarded first prize in the category Best ERM Implementation by RUSRISK in 2014.

In 2012 Alex created RISK-ACADEMY, company specializing in risk education. RISK-ACADEMY was awarded Best risk management education program by RUSRISK in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Alex recently published a book on Amazon called “Secret recipe for risk managers” and regularly presents at risk management conferences. Delegates need to book flights to arrive at Cape Town International Airport. The majority of international flights into Cape Town would fly via Johannesburg (OR Tambo International Airport).

Cape Town International is world-class and was named Africa's leading airport in the 2012 World Airport Awards.

CLIMATE

Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate, with mild, moderately wet winters and dry, warm summers.

During summer (November to February) the temperature on the coast generally ranges between 15°C and

35°C (while inland it increases by approximately 3-5°C).

The summer sun is no laughing matter, however, so make sure that you slap on plenty of strong sunscreen.

The south-easterly wind known as the Cape Doctor also makes its appearance in summer, wreaking havoc

on hairstyles and beach parties, but performing a vital service to the city by clearing it of smog.

CREDIT CARDS, SHOPPING

The South African Rand (ZAR) is the local currency. All major credit cards are accepted throughout South Africa.

CURRENCY AND EXCHANGE

The South African Rand (ZAR) is the local currency. Foreign exchange can be done in any of the hotels. A

passport will be required for ALL transactions.

Foreigners can claim sales tax refunds and should ask salesmen to fill out a tax refund form when

purchasing any goods.

ELECTRICITY/VOLTAGE

The voltage throughout South Africa is 220V/50hz. Most plugs are 15 amp 3-prong or 5 amp 2-prong, in

both cases with round pins. If you're bringing anything electrical, bring an adapter. Most hotels have 110

volt outlets for electric shavers and appliances. Adaptors can be bought at the airport on your arrival, and

may be available at your hotel.

LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

Registration for the Congress implies that delegates agree that neither the Local Organizing Committee

nor the Professional Conference Organizer assume any liability or responsibility for any losses, accidents or

damage to person's private property. Delegates are requested to make their own arrangements for

medical, travel and personal insurance.

MALARIA

Malaria risk in South Africa is confined to the northeastern parts of the country (the Lowveld of

Mpumalanga and Limpopo and on the Maputaland coast of KwaZulu-Natal). The time of the conference

coincides with the rainy season in that region, therefore the risk of malaria is high. Antimalarial

chemoprophylaxis is recommended as well as measures to prevent mosquito bites should be taken.



The cheapest, safest and most effective measures against malaria are physical barriers such as a mosquito net, and the use of a good insect repellent.

MEDICAL SERVICE

South Africa does not have a national health scheme. The patient is individually responsible for settling all accounts. Travel insurance covering accidents, illness or hospitalization during your stay is strongly recommended.

Access to medical care for Conference participants will be available should there be a need.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

South Africa has 11 official languages but at the Congress only ENGLISH will be spoken. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

Please read and accept the terms and conditions before you can proceed to the online registration form

1. Access to and attendance at the conference will only be confirmed on receipt of payment.

2. Payment is due prior to the start of the Conference. In the event of there being a limited number of

delegates, preference will be given to persons who have paid their registration in full.

3. All early bird fees must be paid by the closing date of the early bird time period (by 31 October 2015).

Failure to pay the early bird fee by such date will be liable for the full registration fees.

4. An invoice with the Conference bank details will be sent to you within 72 hours of receipt of your

registration.

5. Receipts will only be issued once proof of payment has been received, and once the payment has

cleared and been identified in the Conference bank account.

7. Please ensure that all payments make clear reference to the delegate being paid for, with their unique

PIN number. (Name, Surname, PIN number). Failure to do so could result in your payment not being

registrations will be liable to pay the value of the 50% cancellation fee.

5. No refunds will be issued for cancellation received after 15 November 2015, and unpaid registrations

will be liable to pay the full amount whether they attend the conference or not.

6. All refunds due will only be issued after the Conference and are subject to the approval of the

organising committee.

7. Any registrations received after 15 November 2015 will not be entitled to any refund or credit, and

such person will be liable for the full registration fee as per point (1) above.
