GPS ENHANCEMENTS

Current GPS Updates• Subscribers access a channel in an “unsynchronised” manner, so

their transmissions may collide. • The probability of collisions increases as the number of radios on a

channel increases, adversely affecting throughput.• 40 unconfirmed updates per minute per slot (85% reliability).

GPS Enhancements made in Release 1.7• Subscribers access the channel in a synchronised manner,

eliminating collisions. • 360 unconfirmed location updates per minute per channel (includes

both slots, 180 location updates per slot) running at 90% capacity.• Supported in all digital modes: Single Site, IPSC, and Capacity Plus.



GPS ENHANCEMENTS

• Improve registration for large fleets.• Increases reliability because there are virtually no collisions

between transmissions.• Reduces the number of channels and associated hardware needed

for GPS data.• Control over system throughput by choosing the Window size based

on the location response length.• Little impact to current 3rd party applications.

ARS INITIALISATION DELAY

Upon power on, radios register by sending ARS messages immediately

• In a system with many radios powering on within a short time, there can be many collisions between ARS registration messages

To reduce collisions, the user can configure the maximum value of an initial random delay for ARS registration in a range of 0 min to 4 hours

• “0 min” means that ARS registration message will be sent out between 5 sec - 15 sec

• “30 min” then the subscriber will randomly choose a time between 5 sec and 30 min and sends ARS when this random time elapses


IP REPEATER PROGRAMMING

Allows a system operator to configure a repeater from a physical location which is different than where the repeater resides through IP connectivity*

• Configuration – Read– view codeplug parameters currently configured in the repeater

• Configuration – Write– write updated codeplug parameters back to the repeater

• Upgrade– update the firmware parameters to a newer version

• CFS (Charging For Software) Feature Enable– remotely enable a chargeable feature within the repeater

*This feature is only applicable for 32MB MOTOTRBO™ DR3000 repeater. MTR3000 supported


EMAIL FUNCTIONALITY IN RDAC

• Setup a SMTP server along with email addresses.

• RDAC application sends email notification anytime an alarm is activated.• System Administrator can

setup which alarms need to send out the email notification.

• Can also specify different email addresses for different systems being monitored


• DTMF tones enable the radio user to communicate with a device connected to a control station using the numeric keypad*• During a voice call, the user can send the

following characters using a MOTOTRBO radio with keypad: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 * #

• These characters are encoded as dual tone multi frequency (DTMF).

• Supported Modes• Single site conventional, IP Site Connect,

and Capacity Plus system configurations. • Analogue mode (since 1.4).

* WARNING: The connected device must not be an analogue phone patch because a phone patch has other call processing requirements, that are not satisfied by DTMF tones

CONTACT LIST• Programmable number keys for contact shortcut

• Allows your radio user to use the number keys to store a favourite contact as a one touch contact directory.

• All the user has to do to complete the call is press the PTT.

• Full Phrase Search• Radio user can search the contact list by inputting a

series of letters and the radio will bring up the contact based on the key presses.

• Display Alias• Radio user can press a programmable button or go

through the menu and the alias will display on the screen.


PASSWORD AND LOCK

• Upon power-up, the radio user is required to input the 4-digit password• To protect radios from unauthorised users.• If the incorrect password is entered 3 consecutive times, the

radio will enter locked state for 15 minutes.• No calls (including emergency calls) can be placed or received

when the portable is in locked stated.

• The password input method varies according to the radio model• Supports all models display and non-display.


MINIMUM VOLUME OFFSET

Set up a minimum value level, which the radio will maintain even when the volume knob is turned all the way down.


CAPACITY PLUS AND LOCAL SLOT IPSC ADK/API

Local Slot on IP Site Connect enhancements• Allow voice and data call monitoring on the local slot• Application will also be able to send and receive bidirectional

CSBK messages• E.g. radio check, enable, disable etc• Can enable niche apps like voice/data logging

Capacity Plus enhancements• Data revert control stations will be able to be removed.• Trunked control stations will still be required

• Only eliminated when bi-directional data is introduced


REPEATER AUTHORISATION

Enable/Disable feature can now be initiated by an IP-based ADP application for IP Site Connect or Capacity Plus systems.

• Radio Enable/Disable• The IP based console app detects an unauthorised radio’s

attempt to access the system• Initiate “Enable/Disable” command which a radio can not be

programmed to ignore (1.7 and later)

• Repeater Slot Enable/Disable• Once an unauthorised radio keys up, the IP based console

app will instructs the repeater not to repeat the voice over the air (pre 1.7)


MPT/MPS GENERIC OPTION BOARD (GOB)

MOTOTRBO GOB supports MPT1327 trunking• MOTOTRBO radio models supported by the GOB

• VHF / UHF• Portable / Mobile• Display / Non-Display• GPS / Non-GPS

• MPT1327 GOB CPS must be used to configure the MPT1327 parameters

• MPT1327 GOB CPS reuses much of the legacy Professional Series MPT1327 CPS
