ORGANIzATIONAL DISCOvERY AND READINESS ASSESSMENT: Motorola Solutions Learning knows that there are several key success factors including leadership commitment, operational readiness, and culture that organizations must consider when implementing large-scale change such as a rollout of Lean Six Sigma. • Organizational Discovery will

help Motorola Solutions and its customers understand the key factors for successful Lean Six Sigma implementation.

• The Readiness Assessment process uses key success factors to create a detailed survey and report to help gauge an organization’s readiness for change in each of these key areas. The Readiness Assessment, combined with the Organizational Discovery points out both areas of strength to leverage, and potential problem areas to address to ensure a successful Lean Six Sigma rollout.

LEADING LEAN SIX SIGMA EXECUTIvE fORUM: Training is critical in helping Executives understand how to lead Lean Six Sigma implementation, how to manage organizational change, and how to select the right projects. Our customizable Executive Forum is typically two-and-a half to three days long, focusing on three key aspects: • Leading Lean Six Sigma – A simulation

provides an overview of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools, and describes the various roles, responsibilities and governance required for a successful

Lean Six Sigma rollout. An order entry simulation is utilized to educate leaders on how to use Six Sigma, Lean, and Design for Six Sigma tools to eliminate defects, reduce cycle time, and re-design a process.

• Change Management defines a structured method and provides tools for leaders to consider in managing organizational change. Poor change management is linked to the failure of most continuous improvement efforts.

• The Project Selection and Prioritization (a.k.a Jump Start) Workshop is designed to bring executives together on key organizational initiatives, prioritize those initiatives and align the appropriate resources to implement needed changes. This workshop lays the groundwork for continuous improvement (Belt) projects.

CURRICULA DESIGN, DEvELOpMENT AND DELIvERY: Company-wide training will help instill the philosophy of change in the greater organization and assist in the organization’s change management needs.• We can develop a virtual one-hour course

which overviews Lean and Six Sigma. The course will help instill the philosophy of continuous improvement and waste elimination. The intent is to deliver this general overview course to your entire organization (some organizations consider this White Belt training).

• We can also customize existing content, courseware or curricula, as well as create new for specific organization intent. These courses can be developed for delivery via various methods including instructor-led, online, via webinar or virtual-instructor led.

BELT TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAMBelt training and certifications represent a building block approach to developing organizational capability through learning, testing, skills demonstration and project demonstration that ultimately leads to globally accepted certifications.

MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS’ AMERICAS LEARNING LEAN SIX SIGMA PROGRAM

EXECUTIvE GREEN BELT A two-and-a-half day, instructor-led course focusing on basic Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools, with a focus on what it takes to successfully manage a Lean Six Sigma project and help lead implementations. To complete the certification, attendees must pass a 15-question test and submit evidence of successfully sponsoring a belt project through to completion. This course is recommended for executives, sponsors, champions or leaders who wish to obtain certification while sponsoring Lean Six Sigma improvement efforts. LEAN SIX SIGMA YELLOW BELTThree-day, instructor-led course focused on Lean tools, which help improve process, speed and efficiency as well as reduce waste. Attendees must pass a 30-question test and submit results of a successful Lean project to obtain a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification. This course is recommended for a high percentage of the organization’s population.

LEAN SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT Five-day, instructor-led course, which incorporates Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies. Participants learn how to be members of high performance, continuous improvement teams and lead improvement efforts. An Excel add-on statistical software package (SigmaXL) is provided to participants

and used for basic statistical analysis. Attendees must pass a 30-question test and submit results of a successful project to obtain a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. LEAN SIX SIGMA BLACK BELT 15-day, instructor-led course, which incorporates advanced Lean and Six Sigma tools, and teaches individuals how to lead larger scale and more complex improvements. Participants learn how to apply advanced statistical tools such as multiple linear regression, and learn how to design experiments to improve and optimize processes. Attendees must pass a 100-question test and submit the results of a successful project to obtain a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Recommended for Certified and/or Trained and Tested Lean Six Sigma Green Belts. MASTER BLACK BELTFive-day, instructor-led course that teaches more advanced Design of Experiments techniques, Monte Carlo simulation, portfolio management and financial acumen. Attendees must pass a 50-question test and submit results of at least 12 successful projects where they led, coached or mentored in order to obtain a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification. Recommended for Certified and/or Trained and Tested Lean Six Sigma Black Belts.

advanced statistical tools, from hypothesis testing and comparative methods to traditional full factorial experiments, fractional factorial experiments, screening experiments and optimization.

MONTE CARLO SIMULATION• One-day instructor-led class using the

DiscoverSim software, providing hands-on practice creating and using models for schedules, business cases and engineering models, as well as analyzing the results in terms of the distribution of outputs and sensitivity to the inputs. Decision and optimization techniques are introduced and practiced.

ADvANCED pRODUCT qUALITY pLANNING• This class teaches the tools and processes

leading up to production part approval. Students learn an integrated approach to new product development and launch.

pROCESS CHARACTERIzATION• Process Characterization teaches the tools

and techniques to properly characterize business or manufacturing processes and their associated variability. The emphasis of this class is on how to become expert in the process in question, and how to use statistical and other methods to identify, reduce, and control variability to ensure stable performance.

pROfESSIONAL WORKSHOp & CONSULTING SERvICES

KAIzEN EvENTS Fast- paced workshops used to quickly quantify an opportunity, identify root causes and select the best solution. They are best managed through use of an experienced facilitator.

pROBLEM SOLvING WORKSHOp Designed to rapidly identify root causes and corrective actions to a given problem. It can be used for manufacturing concerns or with Lean Six Sigma Implementation issues.

pROjECT COACHING Motorola Master Black Belts will advise project leaders on how to use tools or as a tollgate review method for the DMAIC process. Coaching is delivered on-location as a hands-on review, where several projects can be discussed.

pROjECT COACHING & MENTORING Master Black Belts, Black Belts, and instructors provide virtual or on-site project coaching and mentoring to project managers, belt candidates or deployment leaders.

LEAN pRODUCT DESIGN WORKSHOp Three-day instructor-led workshop focused on Lean Product Design thinking and innovation that teaches organizations how to design products or services as “Lean from the start.”
