Merchandise Plan & Customer Profile Target Market: Women who are Asian or Caucasian between the ages of 25 and 35 who live in warm climates and near the ocean. They have medium high to high discretionary income and enjoy being outside, hanging out with friends, traveling, and strolling beach towns. She may be married but no children, she has a laidback career, and a carefree lifestyle. She shops at small high-‐end boutiques and major department stores. Season: Spring 2013 Market: Contemporary Age Range: 25-‐ 35 Size Ranges: 0-‐12 Figure Type: Slim and tall Price point-‐ Bridge Price Range: Tops: $60-$200 Pants: $90- $200 Skirts: $100- $180 Dresses: $100- $500 Jackets: $100- $300 Accessories: $75- $450 Stores: Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks Competitors: Alice and Olivia, Free People, Holly Fulton Trends: Some upcoming trends that are used in this collection include silhouettes, materials, and styles. Some silhouettes include Shift for its large surface for adding prints and detail and hourglass to flatter the waist. Materials include silk for its mimicking ability of movement of the ocean and it’s shine and leather to give the capture the structure of the ocean. Some of the key styles of the season I used are embellishments such as beadwork to imitate the complexity of the reefs and life in the ocean. I’m unitizing keyholes and cutouts to make the clothes cooler for the season and also to capture the beach looks. I will also be using pleats to capture fullness and movement.
