Making the bag
Using the iron-away marker pen, draw a line 2” from the bottom edge of the outer fabric, pin
the ‘Mother’s Day ribbon, sew using 1.6mm stitches along the top and bottom of the ribbon.
Take the outer fabric piece, and with RST using ½” seam allowance, sew down side seam and
half way along the bottom edge (leave a 2” gap along bottom edge for turning). Repeat using
the outer fabric – do not leave a gap. Trim excess fabric from corners. Using ½” seam
allowance, sew the two pieces RST along the top, making to sure to match up the side seams.
Turn the bag, right way out, and press
Sew up the gap and push lining inside the bag. Top stitch 1/8” around the top
Find the centre of the 20” thin piece of ribbon and sew on the daisy flower. Sew this in place
2” down from the top on the front centre of the bag
Add your goodies and tie ribbon at reverse, your little gift bag is complete
Happy Mother’s Day
