What’s inside this week:

A Letter from Fr. Allan Tupa My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Even though we are 5 weeks into 2017 and heading rapidly towards Lent, it is not too late to make a Resolution. Af-ter all, isn’t the first of every month a fresh page on the calendar and every Sunday a new week? Therefore, each

new day that God gifts to us starts with a promise. What we do with that promise is up to us. Does it promise to be the same as yesterday? Or can it become something differ-ent? Free will lets us choose, God lets us decide.

At the beginning of the New Year, many of us made Resolu-tions. Many of these are commonplace: lose weight, exercise more, and quit smoking. However, on January 21st about 100 plus of our church brothers and sisters joined together to pon-der spiritual resolutions. We discerned what interior actions we can start to take to grow closer to God and strengthen our parish family and our local community.

We discussed the three charisms and special characteristics of Most Holy Redeemer. These are Service, Mission & Com-munity. Our parish is a unique place. Many of you drive past other Catholic churches each week to attend Mass here. Our community calls out to each of you in a different way. The charisms of Most Holy Redeemer reflect a part of your spirit and the Holy Spirit guides you here. We listened as several members of our parish shared and gave witness to how these charisms call them to be active parishioners here at Most Holy Redeemer.

We were all given the opportunity to reflect on which of the 3 charisms resonated most within our hearts. We symbolically joined together to recognize we are all fellow travelers on this journey. While we did not make plans for future actions, we recognized this is the beginning.

A BIG Thank-you to all of you who were able to attend. Your parish appreciates the time you sacrificed to be here. I must also thank all of those who organized the event. Without you it wouldn’t have been possible.

But for those of you who were not able to make it, fear not! This is only the beginning. You are still able to join us as we grow. You can still ponder in your heart which of the char-isms speak to you. Allow them to settle in your heart and grow. We will see you next time!

Peace,

Hemos discernido qué con acciones interiores podemos comenzar a acercarnos a Dios y fortalecer nuestra familia parroquial y nuestra comunidad local.

Paz,
