Moscow is the capital of our country.

It is one of the biggest and most beautiful cities in the world.

Moscow was founded in 1147 by Yuri Dolgoruky.

The population of the city is about 10 million people.

The total area of Moscow is about nine hundred square kilometers.

The most famous symbols are the city flag and coat of arms of Moscow.

Moscow is a political centre, where the government of our country works.

We can see the Kremlin and Red Square in the centre of the city.

Moscow is the cultural centre. There are 60 professional theatres, 74 museums, many institutes

and libraries.

One of the highest buildings in Moscow is the State Moscow University. It was founded in 1775 by a great scientist Mikhail Lomonosov.

The Bolshoi Theatre is famous all over the world.

The world-famous Tretyakov Gallery is a symbol of Russian art. More than 55 thousand works are already

kept there.

There are many stadiums in Moscow. The central stadium is in Luzhniki.

Many competitions and football matches are held there.

Moscow is a modern city now.

There are many fine buildings, wide streets, green parks, large squares, churches and monuments in

Moscow.

We say that Moscow is a port of five seas, as the

Moscow – Volga Canal links Moscow with the Baltic,

White, Caspian and Black seas and the Sea of Azov.

The Moscow metro began to work on the 15-th of May , 1935. There were 13 station at that time. Now it has 190 stations.

Our metro beautiful and convenient one.

I live in Moscow and I am proud of this city.
