You’ve asked, we’ve listened! Our Seniors Passport Program is now only $30 per year! To be eligible for this Passport Membership, you must be 65 years of age or older. Membership includes all the benefits the Fitness PLUS Membership as well as the Splash Membership and access to all senior programs at no additional fee! Enjoy our potlucks, the wellness center, pool, active aging programs and more! Every year, we host a Seniors Easter Egg Hunt, Scavenger Hunt, Regional Trips and Spring Dance. Non-members may enroll in these classes individually by paying the $2 daily drop-in rate.
Transportation is available! See the back page for more information on how you can get to and from The Community Center.
For specific programming details such as trip locations, movie and book selections, and lecture presenters, please refer to the bi-monthly newsletter we’ve made just for seniors, available online and at the front desk.

ACTIVE AGINGAqua-ciseTake a step into the pool to keep up your muscle tone and get the low impact full body exercise you’ve been looking for. MPCC. Activity #3001
Pickle BallThis slower paced game is similar to tennis is the perfect low impact exercise, the speed is reduced to make it an easier and more enjoyable exercise like you have always been able to get on the Courts. MPCC. Activity #3002
Table Tennis Join in the fun and volley the ball with your friends a bit to work up a sweat. If you’d like to practice you could also fold up the table and hit to yourself for a while. MPCC. Activity #3003
Restorative AquafitThis is another pool exercise class that puts the needs of participants into action by making it low impact exercise that anyone can handle. MPCC. Activity #3004
Friday FrolicsJoin us every Friday at Costello Park for a brisk walk and conversation throughout the park. In the colder months of winter, we’ll be stepping it up throughout the halls of the Com-munity Center. Costello Park/MPCC. Activity #3005
Seniors YogaFlexibility and strengthening your core are keys to this class that is specifically for our seniors, the class could be easily adjusted for people that have limited mobility as well. MPCC. Activity #3006

Wii FitnessRemember when action packed video games consisted of frog crossing the street? Well, we have the newest technology in video gaming, which will allow you to get an excellent workout through virtual gaming. MPCC. Activity #3007
Senior Strength & SculptOur Senior Strength & Sculpt exercise class is geared to seniors of all shapes, sizes, and mobility levels. You’ll be able to get a great work-out that is low impact enough to meet needs and provide a challenging work-out to boot. MPCC. Activity #3008
Friday Free ShootThe Friday Free Shoot is a form of open gym basketball. You can play classic games like “Around the World” or 21, or just practice your jump shot: the choice is yours. MPCC. Activity #3009
Senior GamesThe Northern Virginia Senior Games will test your ability to run, swim and play pickle ball among other activities. For more details and information on the Senior Games, please see the newsletter and contact the Community Center. Activity #3010
SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIESMorning MochasSome mornings, you just feel like taking it easy and enjoying some coffee with friends. We understand that and have a space set-up for you to just relax and enjoy your friends company every Monday and Friday morning. Gardening Gurus Do you have a green thumb? Then join our garden-ing group that will be assisting with the upkeep of our landscapes. And during the colder months we are going to be coming indoors for window garden creations and plan for spring beautifica-tion goals. MPCC/Costello Park. Activity #3012
Senior SocialsDo you have a creative touch? Are you excited to meet with friends every so often to talk about the day’s events? Then our senior socials group is the perfect thing for you. We make work on craft projects, play games and have a good time every Wednesday. MPCC. Activity #3013
Potluck Picnic in the ParkOn the 2nd Monday of the Month, we’ll be heading outdoors for a potluck picnic. The picnic is held at Costello Park, and during the colder months will be moved into the Community Center. Contact the Community Center to sign up to bring a dish for our potluck. MPCC. Board BonanzaDo you miss playing the classic board games like Monopoly, Scrabble, and Parcheesi? Then join us every Tuesday to enjoy a board game with friends. MPCC. Activity #3015

Transportation is available for residents of Park Place Senior Apartments on weekdays with pick-up times at 8:30am and 11:30am, and drop-off times at 11:30am and 2pm at no additional cost. Please keep in mind that meals are not currently available at the Manassas Park Community Center, participants coming from 8:30am-2pm will need to provide their own lunch.

Senior SeminarsDo you have questions about the home safety? Maybe you’d like to get a refresher on your driving skills or are trying to figure out what you should be eating to stay in tip-top shape. Our Senior Seminars will give you all the answers you need from Community leaders. September’s Speaker: Local Firefighters will come in to share in-depth knowledge about keeping your home safe and hazard-free, while giving you an up close look at some of their firefighting equipment. Book ClubOn the first Friday of each month, we’ll be reading and sharing our thoughts on the story and characters from historical novels to romantic classic books, and everything in between. The plot twist for this book club: we’ll be sharing our thoughts over potluck food that follows the story. With the Civil War’s 150th anniversary upon us, it is fitting that our first selection is The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane. Following book selections will be made by participants. MPCC.
